After seeing off the reigning European champions PSG to preserve their flawless league-phase record, Bayern Munich now turn their attention to another challenging midweek trip: Arsenal. 

The Bavarians have been a regular tormentor for the current Premier League leaders, but the Gunners have been a different beast under Mikel Arteta lately. They made it to the Champions League semi-finals last season, and have won all four of their league stage matches so far, including a 4-0 thrashing of Atletico Madrid.

Vincent Kompany’s men have been unstoppable in home and abroad so far. They are still unbeaten in the Bundesliga with 10 wins in 11 matches. Bayern Munich put six goals past Freiburg before heading to London for their midweek trip.

Bayern Munich have had no trouble finding the back of the net. They have scored 14 goals in their first four matches, but maintaining that scoring momentum might not be easy against Arsenal. 

The Gunners have not let in a single goal in the Champions League yet. They have also shown remarkable defensive resilience in the Premier League. Many pundits believe they have the best backline in Europe right now, and even a star-studded Bayern Munich attack might struggle against them. 

That said, the absence of Gabriel might compromise Arsenal’s solidity. Piero Hincapie and Cristhian Mosquera are great back-up options to have, but they don’t have enough experience for matches like these. 

Arsenal are capable of finding the back of the net themselves, of course, with the likes of Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard, and Viktor Gyokeres in the squad.
