UCL: Bayern Munich vs Chelsea - Betting Tips, Odds & Prediction

Two European football giants and two previous winners of this famous old trophy prepare to restore old rivalries as they meet at the Allianz Stadium in the first UCL gameweek. Both teams will have aspirations of a deep run and will want to lay down a significant early marker.

Bayern Munich 

Bayern look set to dominate all before them in Germany once again having started their domestic season with three consecutive wins. The goals have been flowing, with the defending champions having found the back of the net on no fewer than fourteen occasions. The aim for Vincent Kompany’s men will be success in Europe. With a squad brimming with talent and with one of Europe’s finest marksmen in their ranks in the shape of Harry Kane, they will want to show that they are one of the Europe’s best and will hope to announce themselves with a win over Chelsea. 

Team news: Jamal Musiala remains a long-term absentee and he will be joined on the sidelines by Hiroki Ito, Alphonso Davies and Raphael Guerreiro.

Chelsea 

Having won the Europa Conference League and the Club World Championships, Chelsea will be hoping for even more success in this year’s Champions League. The Blues return to the scene of one of their most famous victories and they will look to be inspired by the heroes of 2012 as they look to upset the odds. Chelsea remains undefeated in the Premier League but will be rueing a late defensive lapse in their 2-2 draw with Brentford on Saturday. They will hope to avoid defeat for the first time this season. 

Team news: Cole Palmer should be in line to make his reappearance following his return from injury but there are doubts over Joao Pedro and Estevao.

• This will be the team’s first meeting since 2020, Bayern have won the last three matches between the two.
