Bournemouth
Three draws in their last five league outings tell you everything you need to know about where Bournemouth are right now.
They’re tough to beat, but can’t find their way to the full three points often enough. Losing Antoine Semenyo to Manchester City in January has hurt them going forward. Eli Junior Kroupi has contributed eight league goals and Evanilson six, but neither has consistently replaced the cutting edge Semenyo provided.
At home, they’ve lost just once in their last seven Premier League fixtures. Only two of those were wins, though, with five draws. It’s a pattern I’m finding tough to ignore heading into this one.
Team News: Lewis Cook is out injured. Justin Kluivert, Julio Soler, and Ben Doak are all sidelined. Evanilson is a doubt after taking a knock against Sunderland.
Predicted Lineup: Petrovic; Jimenez, Hill, Senesi, Truffert; Adams, Scott; Rayan, Kroupi, Adli; Evanilson.
Brentford
If you want entertainment, Brentford’s the team to watch this year.
Saturday’s 4-3 win at Burnley summed them up. Three goals ahead, they nearly threw it away before Mikkel Damsgaard’s 93rd-minute winner saved them. Igor Thiago now has 18 EPL goals this season, second only to Erling Haaland, and Kevin Schade has seven league goals of his own. Damsgaard’s winner saw him end on a brace, with his form coming at just the right time.
Brentford’s away record is strong, with five wins from the last six on the road in the league. Their defence though, not so good: they’ve conceded two or more in five of their last seven league games.
Team News: Aaron Hickey, Josh Dasilva, Fabio Carvalho, and Antoni Milambo are all out. Caoimhin Kelleher missed the Burnley game due to personal reasons and could return. Dango Ouattara started at Burnley and should keep his place.
Predicted Lineup: Valdimarsson; Kayode, Ajer, Van den Berg, Henry; Jensen, Yarmoliuk; Schade, Damsgaard, Ouattara; Thiago.
