Brighton
Brighton are still chasing their first victory of the 2025-26 campaign, managing only a single point from their first two Premier League outings.
They seemed on course for three points in their league opener against Fulham, but a dramatic 97th-minute equaliser from Rodrigo Muniz wiped out Matt O’Riley’s effort. The Seagulls then fell to an inspired Everton side, who were playing their first match at their new stadium.
A 6-0 demolition of Oxford United in the EFL Cup should give them a confidence boost, but football sports betting platforms are not confident of their chances against a wounded Manchester City side eager to get back on track.
Team News: Solly March is set to miss out again, as the midfielder looks to return on training within a few weeks.
Predicted Lineup: Pickford; O’Brien, Tarkowski, Keane, Garner; Gueye, Iroegbunam; Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall, Grealish; Barry.
Manchester City
Manchester City looked determined to bury the disappointment of a trophyless season and a failed Club World Cup title bid. But after a bright start against Wolves, they again fell short against an old adversary: Tottenham Hotspur.
The North Londoners became the first team to beat Guardiola’s Manchester City back-to-back at the Etihad. Spurs have now become the ultimate bogey team for the Catalonian, as he has now lost 10 games against them. Only Real Madrid and Liverpool have managed to beat him in as many matches.
City will hope to return to winning ways against Brighton, but they will be wary of their loss at the Amex last season.
Team News: Ederson should expect to return between the sticks after James Trafford’s underwhelming display against Spurs.
Predicted Lineup: Ederson; Nunes, Stones, Dias, Ait-Nouri; Bernardo, Gonzalez; Bobb, Reijnders, Marmoush; Haaland.
