Football Multi Bet: $10.58 Tip for Thursday

Thursday’s Champions League quarter-final first legs pair Barcelona with Atletico Madrid and PSG with Liverpool, and I’ve put together a football multi bet across both fixtures. A home win, a match result and a goals market combine to push past 10x.

Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid

Thursday April 9, 7:00am NZT, Spotify Camp Nou

Barcelona won 2-1 at the Metropolitano on Saturday, with Robert Lewandowski netting the winner in the 87th minute. That’s five consecutive victories for Hansi Flick’s side, who lead La Liga by seven points. I’m backing them again – but I also expect Atletico to score.

Barca have rattled in 19 goals across their last four Champions League home games, including a 7-2 demolition of Newcastle in the round of 16. Flick’s high defensive line invites danger, though – over 2.5 goals has come in across eight of their last nine meetings with Atletico.

Jan Oblak is a major doubt after a muscle strain. He’s returned to training but might be saved for the second leg. Pablo Barrios is definitely out. If Juan Musso deputises in goal, that’s a significant downgrade at Camp Nou. Julian Alvarez has scored 14 Champions League goals in his last 17 matches, though, and won’t need many openings.

Barca to win with both sides scoring at $2.80 on football betting sites – this bet anchors our multi.

PSG vs Liverpool

Thursday April 9, 7:00am NZT, Parc des Princes

PSG hammered Chelsea 8-2 on aggregate in the last round and have won four of their last five, beating Toulouse 3-1 on Friday. Defending champions, at home, in form. I can’t go against them.

Liverpool have managed one win in five. A draw with Spurs, a loss at Brighton, then a 0-4 mauling at Manchester City in the FA Cup. Alisson Becker is injured, so Giorgi Mamardashvili gets the gloves. Mohamed Salah confirmed his departure last week, and the Reds’ focus looks scattered.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has four goals in his last three Champions League knockout games. Ousmane Dembele bagged a brace against Toulouse. I’m comfortable taking PSG at $2.10 on NZ betting sites.

There’s another market I like on this match too.

PSG have scored 34 Champions League goals this season – more than any other side – and conceded 17. At the Parc des Princes, they’ve netted 18 and shipped 10 across six home games. Both sides scored in five of those six.

Liverpool’s problem hasn’t been creating chances. They average 8.5 shots on target per game in the UCL, the best record in the competition. Florian Wirtz has produced 27 open-play chances in nine European appearances.

I’m taking over 2.5 goals at $1.80 on most betting apps to close out this multi. Both teams scored in each of the last four meetings between these two, and the away side won the most recent pair. PSG will go for it early, Liverpool will be forced to respond, and I expect we’ll see goals.
