Football Multi Bet

I’ve put together a three-leg Champions League accumulator for Thursday morning NZT. We’re backing Arsenal to continue their perfect European run, Haaland to find the net at the Bernabeu, and goals at both ends in Leverkusen. Here’s how you can potentially turn a modest stake into nearly 11x your money on NZ betting apps.

Club Brugge vs Arsenal

Thursday 11 December, 9:00am NZT, Jan Breydel Stadium

Arsenal are the only team with a perfect record in this season’s Champions League. Five games, five wins, 14 goals scored and just two conceded. The side are humming along, and a trip to Belgium looks like an ideal opportunity to extend their fine run of form.

Club Brugge, on the other hand, are in deep trouble. Four points from five games leaves them 26th in the 36-team table, fresh off a 3-2 home defeat to Sint-Truiden.

Worse still, both first-choice goalkeepers are out injured for the hosts - Simon Mignolet with a muscle strain, while Nordin Jackers is nursing a fractured rib. That leaves 22-year-old Dani van den Heuvel between the sticks against one of Europe’s most potent attacks.

Football betting sites have the Gunners as heavy favourites, and I expect them to win comfortably with at least three goals here.

Real Madrid vs Manchester City

Thursday 11 December, 9:00am NZT, Santiago Bernabeu

I’ve covered this one in depth in my match preview, and the angle I keep coming back to is Haaland against Real Madrid’s makeshift defence.

The Norwegian has nine Champions League goals against Spanish opposition, including four separate braces. That’s more than any other player in the competition’s history against La Liga clubs. With Militao out for four months and 21-year-old Raul Asencio likely to start at centre-back, the matchup looks very favourable for City’s number nine.

Haaland has scored 20 goals in 20 games this season and shows no signs of slowing down. At $1.75, he’s a solid bet to find the net at the Bernabeu.

Bayer Leverkusen vs Newcastle

Thursday 11 December, 9:00am NZT, BayArena

Both teams need points in this fixture to secure their knockout phase spots, and both have the attacking quality to trouble each other.

Leverkusen have found their rhythm with back-to-back wins over Benfica and Manchester City. Patrik Schick has scored in consecutive Champions League outings and will fancy his chances against a Newcastle defence that’s shipped goals on the road this season.

However, the visitors are no slouches going forward either. Newcastle have scored in 16 consecutive games across all competitions, with Bruno Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon both finding the net in their weekend win over Burnley. Both teams have scored in Newcastle’s last six away matches, and I expect that trend to continue in Germany.

At $2.72, BTTS offers decent value in what should be an open, entertaining contest.
