Premier League: Chelsea vs Liverpool - Betting Tips, Odds & Prediction

After succumbing to a humiliating 3-1 defeat at home, Chelsea return to Stamford Bridge on Sunday morning to lock horns with Liverpool. The Merseysiders are the Premier League leaders right now, but their morale will have taken a hit after back-to-back defeats in the league and Europe. 

The Blues have made amends for their subpar performance against Brighton with a much-needed win against Benfica in Europe. But is that going to give them enough momentum for a win against the reigning Premier League champions? Chelsea

Chelsea ruined Jose Mourinho’s Stamford Bridge homecoming with a narrow 1-0 win over the Special One’s new team, Benfica. Enzo Maresca’s men did not produce a dominant display, but it was enough to pick up their first UCL win of the season, following their 3-1 loss to Bayern. 

The Blues will now hope to turn their fortunes in domestic football as well, after a humiliating defeat to Brighton at home. Chelsea have not been in great form lately, losing three of their last five games, and the mounting injury crisis isn’t helping their cause in the slightest.

Team News: Trevoh Chalobah will not be available after being sent off against Brighton, while the likes of Cole Palmer, Levi Colwill, and Liam Delap are also expected to sit out.

Liverpool

The reigning Premier League champions sought to bounce back from Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Crystal Palace with a win against Galatasaray. Unfortunately, the Istanbul outfit worsened their misery with a shock 1-0 victory.

Liverpool are yet to hit top form, but they have managed to get the job done before the latest pair of defeats. Against a depleted Chelsea side struggling for form, however, the Reds should be able to get the full points. 

This has historically been a goal-heavy fixture. The last four matches between Liverpool and Chelsea have seen 13 goals. Liverpool have scored at least in 40 Premier League matches running, and we are confident that they will extend that streak against Chelsea. 

None of these teams have been rock solid at the back, so far. Therefore, we are predicting over 3.5 goals scored, and Liverpool to win.
