Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace have been in a giant killing mood lately. They beat Manchester City in the FA Cup final, saw off Liverpool in the Community Shield, and last weekend, held off a £250 million Chelsea attack to secure a draw at Stamford Bridge.
The recent transfer updates, however, were distractions Glasner could have done without. Yet, the likes of Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi showed no lack of commitment against Chelsea, and Palace will hope the team can keep their focus when Forest visit.
New bookmakers are labeling Palace as the favourites because of their excellent recent form and home team status.
Team News: Eberechi Eze is expected to join Arsenal soon, so it’s unlikely he will be in the squad.
Predicted Lineup: Henderson; Richards, Lacroix, Guehi; Munoz, Wharton, Hughes, Sosa; Esse, Edouard; Mateta.
Nottingham Forest
Returning to Europe after such a long absence is a significant achievement for Nottingham Forest. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men came agonisingly close to securing a Champions League spot, so missing out on that is a regret that won’t go away anytime soon in the Forest camp.
But, the Tricky Trees seemed quite inspired when they stepped out of the tunnel against Brentford and essentially finished the game in the first half with a brace from Chris Wood and a Dan Ndoye goal.
Crystal Palace could be a trickier assignment, but Forest will go to the capital brimming with confidence following their dominant opening day win.
Team News: Nottingham Forest don’t have any fresh injury concerns heading into this clash.
Predicted Lineup: Sels; Cunha, Milenkovic, Murillo, Williams; Yates, Anderson; Ndoye, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Wood.
