Football Multi Bet: $10.64 Tip for Sunday

Sunday morning is FA Cup fifth-round time, and this football multi bet has been on my radar all week. Three matches, a bit of a twist on one of them, and a combined return that’s certainly worth getting out of bed for. I won’t show all my cards just yet - so read on to find out how you can potentially rack up a 10x return on NZ betting sites this weekend.

Mansfield Town vs Arsenal

Sunday 8 March, 1:15am NZT, One Call Stadium

Arsenal are going to win this, and there’s very little use discussing otherwise. They’re top of the Premier League with 64 points from 29 games and have scored 98 goals in all competitions this season. This is not the kind of team that loses to League One opposition.

What I like in this fixture is the BTTS angle though. First of all, it’s super lucrative at $3.50, but it’s also a great shot of landing I think.

Mansfield have won just one of their last five in League One, conceding six in that stretch, but their cup form is a completely different story. They beat Sheffield United 4-3 in an earlier round, then came from behind to knock out Burnley 2-1 in the fourth round. When the cup is on the line, these guys play their hearts out.

Arsenal, on the other hand, have been caught out at the back in recent weeks, conceding in three of their last five across all competitions. You won’t see many football tips recommending this, but I say a punt on Arsenal to win and both teams to score is worth it.

Wrexham vs Chelsea

Sunday 8 March, 6:45am NZT, Stok Cae Ras

Chelsea in decent form, having demolished Hull City 4-0 in the FA Cup fourth round.

Wrexham, on the other hand, are in the FA Cup fifth round for the first time in 29 years. The sixth-placed Championship team deserve to be here though. They knocked out Nottingham Forest on penalties after a 3-3 draw, then beat Ipswich 1-0 with Josh Windass scoring the only goal.

However, the step up from Championship to Premier League quality is significant, and Chelsea have way too many ways to hurt Wrexham in this one. It’s worth checking the price on the best betting apps in NZ before you place your bet, but I’m taking the away win at $1.60.

Newcastle United vs Manchester City

Sunday 8 March, 9:00am NZT, St James’ Park

This FA Cup clash is all about head-to-head. Currently, it stands at 37 wins to Manchester City, and 10 to Newcastle across 54 meetings.

As if that wasn’t cause enough for concern, Newcastle are having one of their worst seasons in recent memory. They’ve lost five of their last six in the league and have Bruno Guimaraes, Fabian Schar and Lewis Miley all out injured. Man City already beat them 2-1 at the Etihad just last month, and I can’t see that scoreline getting any better this time.

City are second in the Premiership and are in searing form right now. I’ll be conservative and just take them to win outright, even though Erling Haaland could well make this a bloodbath if he gets going.
