Football Multi Bet: $10.42 Tip for Monday

I’ve put together an FA Cup football multi bet across three fifth-round ties taking place early on Monday morning in New Zealand. All three feature Premier League sides up against lower-league opposition yet there’s solid value on offer across NZ betting sites if you shop around. The price on Sunderland winning caught my eye while the Leeds leg of this multi adds some spice to push this past 10x.

Fulham vs Southampton

Monday March 9, 1:00am NZT, Craven Cottage

Harry Wilson has nine goals and six assists in the Premier League this season, though he missed the midweek loss to West Ham with an ankle knock. If he’s fit for this, Fulham are a completely different proposition. Even without him, they’ve got Raul Jimenez and Alex Iwobi creating chances willy-nilly.

Southampton are doing fine in the Championship, sitting 10th and unbeaten in seven, but they struggled on the road earlier in the season and this is a step up in quality. Fulham have eight wins from 15 at Craven Cottage this season and I expect them to control this one. Home win.

Port Vale vs Sunderland

Monday March 9, 2:30am NZT, Vale Park

Port Vale sit 24th in League One and haven’t won a league match in 16 games. They got battered 4-0 at home by Stockport last month. How they got this far is a mystery. Their FA Cup run has certainly been a bright spot though, knocking out Bristol City with a late goal in extra time most recently.

Sunderland have 40 points from 29 Premier League games and Granit Xhaka on fire in midfield. I’ve had a look at football betting odds across a few sites and $1.60 feels about right. Habib Diarra has been finding dangerous positions regularly and the gulf in class should become clear over 90 minutes, even away from home.

Leeds vs Norwich

Monday March 9, 5:30am NZT, Elland Road

Here’s where I’m rolling the dice. Leeds haven’t won in five and Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s conversion rate has dropped to 10.5% since January. But they’re at home, they’re Premier League, and Norwich sit 17th in the Championship.

What gives me a little bit of pause is the fact that Norwich are in decent nick. They’ve won four of their last five, scored 10, conceded three. Anis Ben Slimane has four FA Cup assists this season and Jovon Makama has been banging in goals.

I reckon they’ll cause Leeds problems, which is why I’m going BTTS alongside the home win. Leeds created 18 shots against Sunderland on Tuesday and got nothing from it. That dominance will eventually convert at Elland Road against a Championship defence, but I don’t see them keeping a clean sheet. This is the leg that bumps this multi past $10 on the best sports betting apps and I think it’s worth the punt.
