Football Multi Bet

I’ve spent the week checking out the form for the FA Cup third round and I reckon I’ve nailed down a great multi this Sunday. There’s some decent value available on NZ betting sites if these games play out like I think they will. I’m sticking with three ties where I reckon the favourites will show their class, and I’m feeling good about our chances this weekend.

Multi Bet Tip

Everton vs Sunderland

Sunday January 11, 1:15am NZT, Hill Dickinson Stadium

Playing at home, Everton will be desperate to give their fans something to cheer about this Sunday. They’ve been decent lately, finding a bit of consistency and looking far more organised. I expect them to control the tempo from the start and show why they’re the higher-ranked side in this tie.

Sunderland will travel with plenty of support and they’re never an easy team to break down. They’ll likely sit deep and try to catch the hosts out on the counter. But, I think the physicality and pace of Everton will eventually wear them down as the game goes on.

I’m backing a straight home win here. It’s a classic cup tie, but the class difference should be enough to see the hosts through. They’ve got the squad depth to handle a busy schedule and I reckon they’ll get the job done without needing a replay.

Manchester City vs Exeter City

Sunday January 11, 4:00am NZT, Etihad Stadium

Manchester City are huge favourites and it’s hard to see anything other than a home win here at the Etihad Stadium. City usually dominate these games, keeping the ball for long periods and waiting for the right opening. I don’t even think they’ll need to go into top gear to get past a lower-div side like Exeter City.

Exeter City are going to have to do a lot of running and they’ll be lucky to get many chances at goal. I expect they’ll just be focused on keeping the scoreline respectable and staying compact. This is where football betting gets interesting, as you have to look for value beyond just the match result.

I’m looking at the total goals market for this one. I think the hosts will win comfortably, but they probably won’t be looking to humiliate their opponents and will play within themselves instead. I’m predicting a professional performance where they score a couple and then see the game out safely.

Charlton Athletic vs Chelsea

Sunday January 11, 9:00am NZT, The Valley

Charlton against Chelsea should be a great watch on Sunday morning. The atmosphere at the Valley is always lively for a big cup game and the home side will certainly have a go. After all, they’ve got some tricky players who can cause problems if they’re given too much space.

Chelsea have plenty of flair going forward, but their defence has been a bit of a concern lately. They often switch off and concede goals that they really shouldn’t. If you’re looking at legal betting sites for some value, the BTTS market is definitely worth a look here.

I expect we’ll see plenty of action in both boxes. While the visitors should win the match, I’d be surprised if they keep a clean sheet. I’m taking both teams to find the back of the net in what should be a fun, open game.
