Ipswich vs Fulham Prediction: Betting Tips & Odds

Ipswich vs Fulham Prediction
Fulham are still hunting their first league win of the season, and Portman Road could be where it finally comes.
Ipswich Town and Fulham meet at Portman Road at 3am on Sunday New Zealand time in round six of the Premier League. Ipswich are 11th on six points after five games back in the top flight, while Fulham are second-bottom on two.
I’m going against the market favourite in this Ipswich vs Fulham preview, and the pick at the end is a combined result-and-goals price north of $4.50. This is for those into football sports betting who doesn’t mind a longer price.
Ipswich vs Fulham Analysis
Ipswich
I’ll admit Ipswich have been more fun than I expected they would be.
Two wins from five is a decent return for a promoted side, and the one at Selhurst Park on 12 September was a good watch. Palace went ahead early. Emersonn headed in a Leif Davis cross to level, and Davis nodded them in front just before half-time. Zian Flemming then poked home the winner in the 90th minute after Davis headed against the bar.
Davis is their most dangerous player for me. He’s got two goals and an assist from left-back, while Julio Enciso has two assists from the number 10 role.
Their defence is the worry. Manchester United put five past them at Old Trafford, and even the Palace win came against 10 men for nearly an hour.
Kjell Scherpen lost his place to Christian Walton at Everton after a shaky start, and I expect Walton to start again.
Team News: Fatawu is suspended after his red card at Everton. Taylor is a doubt with a knee injury.
Predicted Lineup: Walton; Ouattara, O’Shea, Diop, Davis; Lukic, Palacios; Philogene, Enciso, Clarke; Emersonn.
Fulham
Fulham are better than their table position.
They drew 0-0 at Anfield on 12 September and probably should’ve beaten Manchester United at Craven Cottage eight days later. Lisandro Martinez turned a save into his own net on 63 minutes before Matheus Cunha’s deflected strike in the 89th minute pinched a point for United. The xG was almost dead even, 1.57 to 1.59.
I’m less sold on their attack. Five league goals is thin, and Josh King has two of them.
Oscar Bobb is the one I like. He scored the 78th-minute winner in their 3-2 Carabao Cup win at West Ham, and anyone following on NZ betting apps could do worse than an anytime scorer punt on him.
Team News: Cairney is out with a knee injury. Tete is a doubt after concussion.
Predicted Lineup: Leno; Castagne, Affengruber, Bassey, Robinson; Berge, Charles; Bobb, King, Iwobi; Garcia.
Ipswich vs Fulham Stats and Trends

- Fulham are unbeaten in their last seven meetings with Ipswich.
- Fulham have failed to score in two of their five league games.
Ipswich vs Fulham Prediction
I’m tipping this will be a draw.
Neither side gives me much confidence at the back. Ipswich have looked lively going forward, and I can see Davis getting plenty of joy down Fulham’s right.
But Fulham have enough craft through Bobb and Alex Iwobi to find a goal at Portman Road, and they’ve looked harder to beat since the Palace defeat.
I’m not reading much into home advantage either. Ipswich beat Sunderland 2-1 on the opening weekend, then lost 2-0 to Liverpool at Portman Road two weeks later, and they barely laid a glove on them.
My worry is Fulham’s finishing. They drew blanks at Sunderland and Anfield, and if King and Gonzalo Garcia misfire again, a 1-0 home win is a real chance.
Gut feel says it’s level going into the last 15 minutes and neither side is brave enough to chase it. I’m calling 1-1.

Ipswich vs Fulham - The Ultimate Bet
Draw and Both Teams to Score @ $4.75
This is a small-stakes punt, but I like the history.
The last two Premier League meetings between these two finished level with goals at each end, 1-1 at Portman Road in August 2024 and 2-2 at Craven Cottage in January 2025.
Fulham have drawn their last two league games, and Ipswich haven’t worked out how to defend their own box yet. That leaves Fulham’s finishing as the main risk, which I’ve already owned up to.
If you’d rather a shorter price, BTTS on its own is around $1.70. I just think the draw is underpriced given how evenly matched these sides look on paper.
I’m happy to have a go at $4.75 with the best legal sports betting sites in NZ.
