Given their four-game winless streak, including two losses, Sociedad face an uphill battle to earn a result in Madrid.

This fixture has not featured too many goals in recent times. In their last five meetings, three of which Atletico have won, there have only been 10 goals in total. So, there have been two goals on average in the last five editions of this matchup. 

Atletico did fire 10 goals past their opponents in their last five La Liga games, but they have failed to score in two of those matches. Los Txuri-urdin, meanwhile, have not scored in their last two games and face an Atleti backline that have been breached only once in their last three matches. 

So, betting on under 2.5 goals to be scored appears to be a good value punt. 

Julian Alvarez Over 1.5 Shots on Target @ 2.63 

Julian Alvarez has been Atletico Madrid’s primary attacking threat this season. The Argentina international has scored 15 goals in the Spanish league this season and made two assists. Bet365 is offering an excellent deal in the shots on target market for the young forward. 

The bookmaker is offering a 2.63x return if Alvarez manages to have over 1.5 shots on target. Alvarez has had nine shots on target in his last five La Liga games. He had scored against Imanol Alguacil’s men in the reverse fixture back in October, and he could return to terrorise the Sociedad backline once again.
