UCL: Liverpool vs Atletico Madrid - Betting Tips, Odds & Prediction

Liverpool have tasted victory from their first four league games this season and will hope to extend that unbeaten record to five when they host Atletico Madrid in what looks to be one of the best matches of UCL Gameweek 1.

It was yet again the late show for Liverpool as they scored with just seconds to go to overcome a stubborn Burnley side and maintain their perfect start to the new Premier League season. Despite winning four from four, it’s hard to make out Liverpool’s start to the season due to the fact that every game has been won in dramatic fashion. After a rocky start at the back, the Reds have kept two consecutive clean sheets, there will be hopes that Alexsander Isak will make his long-awaited debut.  

Team news: After picking up a knock against Burnley at the weekend, Alexis MacAllister looks to be a major doubt, and Arne Slot could look to give several others who have spent time on the bench their first start of the season. Alexsander Isak will likely start from the bench.

Atletico Madrid

Having lost in finals and having struggled to make an impression in recent years, Atletico Madrid will hope to return to the latter stages of the UCL this season, but they have been handed a tough opening assignment at Anfield. Domestically, Atletico bounced back well from a disappointing opening day defeat to Espanyol. They are now unbeaten in three and head to Merseyside following a convincing 2-0 win over Villarreal at the weekend.

Team news: Diego Simeone’s men have been dealt a blow as Julian Alvarez will not travel with the side, making an already uphill task that much harder. There will be doubts over Gonzalez, Robin Le Normand and David Hancko who were all forced off in Saturday’s victory.

Liverpool fans will likely see their first glimpse of Alexsander Isak but it is likely to be from off the bench. Mo Salah has found the back of the net twice this season but has looked some way off his best. The Egyptian will hope to kick start his season with another trademark European display.
