Liverpool vs Wolves Analysis

Liverpool

It’s been a strong campaign for Liverpool so far in 2025.

They come into this clash off the back of a 2-1 win away in Tottenham which kept them right in the title mix. Their forwards are fizzing right now, with Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez causing major headaches for defenders every week.

Anfield is a place where teams rarely leave with points, and Liverpool have made sure of that this season. They have a great record against Wolves at home, but need to be wary of complacency here. Still, if they can control the midfield and feed their wingers early, they should be far too strong here.

Team News: Alisson Becker is back training but might not be risked yet.

Predicted Lineup: Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Jones; Salah, Nunez, Diaz.

Wolves

Wolves are in a serious crisis right now.

It’s been months since they tasted anything other than defeat, and they’re firmly rooted to the bottom of the table with just two draws to show from their 17 outings so far. Last weekend’s defeat extended a winless streak that is pointing one direction: relegation Matheus Cunha is trying to spark something, but he’s isolated.

My big worry is their fragility on the road. They’ve been shipping goals left, right and centre against top sides. Sitting deep at Anfield usually ends in tears, and unless they find a miracle counter-attack, I suspect it’s going to be a long afternoon for them.

Team News: Mario Lemina is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card, while Hwang Hee-chan is doubtful with a hamstring tweak.

Predicted Lineup: Sa; Semedo, Dawson, Toti, Ait-Nouri; Andre, Gomes, Doyle; Bellegarde, Cunha, Larsen.

Liverpool vs Wolves Stats and Trends

  • Liverpool have won their last six Premier League matches against Wolves at Anfield.
  • Wolves have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last nine away games.
  • Liverpool have scored at least two goals in each of their last five home matches.
  • Mohamed Salah has six goal contributions in his last four games against Wolves.

Liverpool vs Wolves Prediction

There’s a reason NZ betting sites have Liverpool as heavy favourites, and I’m with them.

Liverpool are flying at the moment and have too much quality in the final third for a Wolves defence that is short on confidence. The Reds will dominate possession, create plenty of chances, and should run away with this.

Wolves will try to park the bus and frustrate them, but once Liverpool get the first goal, the floodgates could open. I don’t think the visitors have enough threat to trouble Liverpool’s backline consistently.

I predict a routine victory for the hosts. 3-0 sounds about right to me. For punters with free bets available, backing Liverpool to win to nil is a decent shout.

Liverpool vs Wolves - The Ultimate Bet

Liverpool to Win & Over 3.5 Goals @ $3.20

Expect Liverpool to be ruthless here.

They average nearly three goals a game at home this season. Wolves concede heavily on the road against the top sides, having shipped four at Chelsea and three at City already.

Recent history shows Liverpool enjoy playing Wolves, and I expect them to put on a show for the home fans. Getting over $3.00 at 20Bet for a dominant Liverpool performance with plenty of goals is great value in my book.
