Liverpool
It’s been a strong campaign for Liverpool so far in 2025.
They come into this clash off the back of a 2-1 win away in Tottenham which kept them right in the title mix. Their forwards are fizzing right now, with Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez causing major headaches for defenders every week.
Anfield is a place where teams rarely leave with points, and Liverpool have made sure of that this season. They have a great record against Wolves at home, but need to be wary of complacency here. Still, if they can control the midfield and feed their wingers early, they should be far too strong here.
Team News: Alisson Becker is back training but might not be risked yet.
Predicted Lineup: Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Jones; Salah, Nunez, Diaz.
Wolves
Wolves are in a serious crisis right now.
It’s been months since they tasted anything other than defeat, and they’re firmly rooted to the bottom of the table with just two draws to show from their 17 outings so far. Last weekend’s defeat extended a winless streak that is pointing one direction: relegation Matheus Cunha is trying to spark something, but he’s isolated.
My big worry is their fragility on the road. They’ve been shipping goals left, right and centre against top sides. Sitting deep at Anfield usually ends in tears, and unless they find a miracle counter-attack, I suspect it’s going to be a long afternoon for them.
Team News: Mario Lemina is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card, while Hwang Hee-chan is doubtful with a hamstring tweak.
Predicted Lineup: Sa; Semedo, Dawson, Toti, Ait-Nouri; Andre, Gomes, Doyle; Bellegarde, Cunha, Larsen.
