Manchester United
Manchester United’s Premier League miseries continued on Saturday as a Marc Cucullera goal drew the line between them and Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge.
The result dragged United’s winless run to eight matches in the English top-flight. Under Ruben Amorim, who replaced Erik ten Hag mid-season, United have now amassed only 0.92 points per game, which is the worst points ratio for a manager who has managed more than 24 Premier League games for a club.
But United have compensated for that dismal run with a brilliant Europa League campaign. Football betting sites are offering shorter odds for them to lift the trophy on Thursday.
Team News: Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt are injury doubts ahead of the Europa League final in Bilbao, though Amorim is keeping his fingers crossed for their return.
Predicted Lineup: Onana; Yoro, De Ligt, Maguire; Mazraoui, Ugarte, Casemiro, Dorgu; Diallo, Hojlund, Fernandes.
Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur is the only non-relegated team that has a worse Premier League record than United this season.
Ange Postecoglou is on course to be remembered for Tottenham’s worst-ever Premier League season, with the club suffering 22 defeats and slumping to 17th in the table.
But he can rectify that by ending Tottenham’s 17-year wait for silverware by winning the Europa League final beating United.
Injuries have been unkind to Postecoglou’s men the whole season and they could suffer for it once again in this clash. They are set to fly to Bilbao without key names like James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Bergvall.
Team News: Son Heung-Min might not be fit enough to start the game after a fresh return from a foot injury.
Predicted Lineup: Vicario; Pedro Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Sarr, Bissouma, Bentancur; Johnson, Solanke, Richarlison.
