Football Multi Bet: $8.85 Tip for Sunday

Three Premier League matches fall on Sunday morning NZT and I’ve used all of them for this football multi bet. Two favourites and one upset. Brighton and Liverpool do most of the work, but it’s the Everton leg that gets this close to 9x.

Sunday April 12, 2:00am NZT, Turf Moor

Burnley have won one of their last 22 Premier League games and they’re 19th with 20 points. I don’t see where a result against Brighton comes from here. Georginio Rutter and Yasin Ayari scored when these two met at the Amex in January - a comfortable 2-0 for Brighton - and I’d expect them to be in control again at Turf Moor.

Brighton sit 10th and their away form is reliable enough to trust at $1.73 on football betting sites. I’m happy to anchor the multi with this leg.

Sunday April 12, 2:00am NZT, Gtech Community Stadium

This is the gamble - but I think the numbers back it up. Brentford have drawn 11 consecutive Premier League games. Eleven. They haven’t won a league match since Boxing Day when they put four past Bournemouth, and at some point a run like that stops being resilience and becomes an inability to win football games.

Everton thumped Chelsea 3-0 last time out and sit level with Brentford on 46 points. I think they’ve got the defensive structure to frustrate a side that clearly can’t find a winner right now. At $3.30 on betting apps NZ, this is the leg that could come unstuck, but it’s also the one that gives us a real return.

Sunday April 12, 4:30am NZT, Anfield

Liverpool’s form has been patchy - they lost 2-1 at Brighton last time out and were beaten 4-0 by Manchester City in the FA Cup. But Anfield is a different proposition. They’re 5th with 49 points and need every win they can get in the race for European football next season.

Fulham sit 9th and beat Burnley 3-1 in their last outing, so they’ll arrive with confidence. I still think Liverpool are too strong at home. At $1.55 on best online betting sites, it’s short but I’d rather take it as my safe closer than leave it out.
