Tottenham
For the most part, Tottenham have been sensational under Thomas Frank. However, their home form has not been ideal. The win at Will Dickinson was their fourth one on the road, and in the only away match Spurs couldn’t win this season, they held Brighton to a 2-2 draw at Amex Stadium.
At home, beating Burnley 3-0 in the opener has been their only success so far. They lost to Bournemouth, Aston Villa, and shared the spoils with Wolves - who are currently 20th in the standings.
That’s why betting apps in NZ are offering slightly longer odds for a Tottenham win, even though they are third in the table.
Team News: Frank will be without as many as nine players in the squad, but there are no fresh injury concerns.
Predicted Lineup: Vicario; Porro, Danso, Van de Ven, Spence; Palhinha, Sarr; Kudus, Simons, Tel; Kolo Muani.
Chelsea
Following a spell of mixed results, Enzo Maresca could have been forgiven for thinking he'd righted the ship with four straight wins. They were hoping to extend the winning run to five last weekend. Sunderland had other ideas, though.
For Marc Guiu, making his first Premier League start against the Black Cats, it proved an afternoon to forget. The striker, however, was not the only underperforming player of the match for the Club World Cup champions.
Odds for Joao Pedro scoring got even longer on betting sites after another poor performance - this time in his preferred No.10 position. Things didn’t go smoothly at the back, either. Reece James, Trevoh Chalobah and Marc Cucurella - none of them would look back fondly on their performances.
Maresca must go back to the drawing board and come up with a plan to bounce back from this disappointing result with a London derby win.
Team News: Alejandro Garnacho will feel he did enough to hold on to his spot with a solid performance against Sunderland.
Predicted Lineup: Sanchez; James, Chlobah, Acheampong, Cucurella; Caicedo, Lavia; Neto, Garnacho, Estevao; Pedro.
