Monaco vs Manchester City

Thursday October 2, 7:00am NZT, Stade Louis II

Monaco have a strong record against English teams, having won six of their last nine home matches against English sides in Europe. After going down 4-1 against Club Brugge, however, it hardly seems likely that the Red and Whites will be able to replicate their previous home result against Manchester City.

Monaco famously beat the Citizens in the 2016/17 Champions League Round of 16, but City are in better form at the moment. They beat Napoli 2-0 in the previous gameweek and come into this match fresh off their 5-1 hammering of Burnley.

Given the goalscoring mood City is in, and Monaco’s recent defensive struggles, we recommend betting more than 3.5 goals in this one. This market is sweetly priced across New Zealand betting apps and makes an excellent opening leg for our multi.

Borussia Dortmund vs Athletic Bilbao

Thursday October 2, 7:00am NZT, Signal Iduna Park

After narrowly missing out on a win at Juventus Stadium, Borussia Dortmund return to Signal Iduna Park to welcome Athletic Bilbao for a Thursday morning kick-off. While BVB have a point on the board, Bilbao will look to get their tally started following a 2-0 loss to Arsenal at home.

Football sports betting experts are expecting this to be a cagey affair, but the hosts should be able to bag the bragging rights. Borussia Dortmund are unbeaten across all competitions and seem set to add another win to their tally on Thursday.

Arsenal vs Olympiakos

Thursday October 2, 7:00am NZT, Emirates Stadium

Even though old and new betting sites are labelling them as underdogs, Olympiakos have been a bogey team for Arsenal. They have beaten the North Londoners six times in 12 meetings, and won in each of their last three visits to Emirates Stadium.

However, Arsenal have come a long way in recent seasons, so this should be a routine win for last year’s semi-finalists. Bukayo Saka, who produced a lively display against Newcastle on the weekend, should find his way into the score sheet.
