Two Round of 16 ties on July 6 NZT and the World Cup 2026 odds are interesting across both games. Brazil against Norway has all the signs of an open contest given what we’ve seen from both defences, while Mexico host England at the Azteca with four straight clean sheets on the line.

I’ve been comparing prices on the football betting sites and put together a same-game multi with two legs from the Brazil game plus an England win. If you’re using free bets from any of the NZ betting sites or betting apps, this is a decent day to use them.

Top Picks for World Cup Day 25 | July 6

Brazil vs Norway

Both teams to score ($1.80)

I can’t see this ending with a clean sheet on either side.

Norway have 10 goals across four games at this tournament and Erling Haaland has five of them - scored in all three matches he’s played after missing the France group game. Brazil’s defence has been tested. Japan went ahead against them in the Round of 32, and Morocco also scored in the group stage.

Norway’s defence is leaky, though. Four conceded against France, two to Senegal. Carlo Ancelotti is now without Lucas Paqueta (thigh injury), and Casemiro picked up a knock late in the Japan game. But Vinicius Junior has four tournament goals and Neymar is pushing for more involvement after Paqueta’s absence opened a spot.

I’d be surprised if this finished 1-0 either way.

✓ Long Shot: Norway to win ($4.00)
✓ Extra Tip: Erling Haaland anytime goalscorer ($2.40)

Mexico vs England

England to win ($2.25)

Mexico haven’t conceded in four games at this World Cup - eight goals scored, nothing let in. It’s an exceptional record.

But England are the best attack they’ve faced so far, and I think this is where it ends.

Harry Kane scored both in a 2-1 comeback against DR Congo, with the winner arriving in the 86th minute. He’s up to 13 career World Cup goals. Jude Bellingham is on a yellow card so he’ll need to be disciplined, but this is still a side with options all over the pitch.

I do expect the Azteca crowd and the altitude to cause problems early. And if Mexico score first, this could go sideways. But at $2.25, I’m taking England to get through.

✓ Long Shot: Mexico to win ($3.45)
✓ Extra Tip: Under 2.5 goals ($1.56)
