Groups K and L got off to a wild start on matchday 1, and the second round of games looks like it could follow suit. England put four past Croatia, Colombia swatted Uzbekistan aside 3-1, and DR Congo stunned Portugal with a stoppage-time equaliser.

That’s the context going into a loaded June 24 NZT card.

I’ve found three legs I feel good about for this World Cup 2026 multi, covering different markets across the day’s action.

Top Picks for World Cup Day 13 | June 24

Portugal vs Uzbekistan

Portugal -1.5 ($1.85)

Portugal were flat against DR Congo and only managed 0.64 xG in a 1-1 draw. Joao Neves headed them in front inside six minutes but they couldn’t add to it, and Yoane Wissa punished them with a header in first-half stoppage time.

Roberto Martinez will be desperate for a response. Uzbekistan, for their part, were brave in defeat against Colombia - Abbosbek Fayzullayev scored their first-ever World Cup goal - but they conceded three and couldn’t cope with Luis Diaz and Daniel Munoz once Colombia got going.

I expect Portugal to be far sharper here. Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t score against DR Congo and I’d be surprised if he doesn’t go after this one with intent. Portugal by two or more at $1.85 is where I’m starting this multi on football betting sites.

✓ Long Shot: Ronaldo to score two or more goals ($5.00)

✓ Extra Tip: Over 3.5 match goals ($3.20)

England vs Ghana

England to win and BTTS ($3.40)

Six goals in the England-Croatia opener. Kane with a brace, Jude Bellingham scoring 85 seconds into the second half, Marcus Rashford wrapping it up late. England looked dangerous from every angle at Dallas Stadium.

The problem was at the other end - they conceded twice in a chaotic first half, with Martin Baturina and Petar Musa both scoring before half-time. I don’t see Thomas Tuchel tightening up entirely against Ghana. England will go for it again.

Ghana aren’t going to sit back and absorb either. Caleb Yirenkyi’s stoppage-time winner against Panama gave them three points, but they registered just one shot on target in that entire match. Against England they’ll need to commit more bodies forward, and Jordan Ayew has the pace to cause issues on the counter.

England win this comfortably, but I reckon Ghana find the net at least once. The $3.40 on free bets for this leg gives the parlay some juice.

✓ Long Shot: Ghana to win ($11.00)

✓ Extra Tip: Harry Kane anytime scorer ($1.55)

Panama vs Croatia

Croatia to win ($1.55)

Croatia are in trouble. Zero points after losing 4-2 to England, and two more group games to somehow rescue their tournament. Luka Modric is 40 years old and playing his fifth World Cup - he’s not here to go home after three matches.

Andrej Kramaric sits third on Croatia’s all-time scoring charts with 36 goals in 114 caps and didn’t score against England, which makes him due. I think we’ll see a different Croatia here. More compact, more controlled.

Panama lost 1-0 to Ghana without managing a single shot on target until the second half. Thomas Christiansen’s side are organised but they don’t create much going forward. Croatia at $1.55 with NZ betting sites is the steady leg in this multi.

✓ Long Shot: Croatia to win to nil ($2.40)

✓ Extra Tip: Modric anytime scorer ($6.50)

Colombia vs DR Congo

Colombia to win ($1.50)

Colombia looked the part against Uzbekistan. Diaz was the best player on the pitch, scoring one and assisting another, and Jaminton Campaz sealed it late. They’ve got three points and a plus-two goal difference already.

DR Congo will be riding high after holding Portugal - Wissa’s header was the best moment of their football history - but the 48-team format means a draw here probably isn’t enough for them. They’ll have to push forward, and that’s where Colombia are at their most dangerous.

Diaz, Jhon Arias, and Richard Rios can pick you apart on the transition. I’m less confident about a margin here than I am about the result. DR Congo showed against Portugal that they can be competitive, and Chancel Mbemba organises their defence well.

Colombia to win at $1.50, and I’d keep it simple on betting apps for this one.

✓ Long Shot: DR Congo to win ($8.00)

✓ Extra Tip: Luis Diaz anytime scorer ($2.60)
