Football Multi Bet: $11.20 Tip for Wednesday

Three of the four FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff finals this Wednesday caught my eye for a football multi bet. There are two favourites I’m settled on plus a goals angle in Stockholm that pushes us past a 11x return.

Kosovo vs Turkey

Wednesday April 1, 7:45am NZT, Fadil Vokrri Stadium

Kosovo have never been to a World Cup, having only joined FIFA in 2016. The 13,500-seat Fadil Vokrri will be hissing, and their 4-3 semi-final win in Slovakia showed they can score - Vedat Muriqi and Fisnik Asllani caused problems all night.

But Turkey’s squad is a cut above. Arda Guler created Ferdi Kadioglu’s winner against Romania with an outrageous assist, and Kenan Yildiz adds another creative threat off the left. Hakan Calhanoglu came off late with a calf issue but he’s expected to start.

Turkey haven’t been at a World Cup since 2002. They’ve won all three previous meetings with Kosovo. At $1.75 on football betting sites for them to win, that’s where I’m starting this multi.

Sweden vs Poland

Wednesday April 1, 7:45am NZT, Strawberry Arena

Viktor Gyokeres scored a hat-trick against Ukraine on Thursday. Sweden look a different side under Graham Potter - three goals away from home in a playoff semi is no joke.

Poland will point to the 2022 playoff final, where Robert Lewandowski and Piotr Zielinski beat Sweden 2-0. Both scored in the semi against Albania too. But that was in Chorzow. Sweden haven’t lost at home to Poland since 1930.

I’m going Sweden to win and BTTS at $3.20. Lewandowski always finds a way to the scoresheet, and Gyokeres won’t stop at one. Both semi-finals saw goals at both ends - I expect more of the same. If you’re checking best betting sites NZ for the sharpest odds, this is the market to watch.

Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Italy

Wednesday April 1, 7:45am NZT, Bilino Polje Stadium

Italy have failed to qualify for the last two World Cups. The thought of it happening again will terrify every player in that squad, and I reckon that fear turns into focus here.

Bosnia are at home and Edin Dzeko’s late header against Wales proved he can still produce. He’s 40, though, and the rest of this squad is weaker than Italy’s across the park.

Sandro Tonali and Nicolo Barella controlling midfield against Bosnia’s engine room feels like a mismatch. Moise Kean has scored in five consecutive internationals. At $2.00, this is the banker of the three. Worth keeping an eye on free bets across the main sportsbooks before kick-off.
