Saturday Racing Tips - Te Repa 25/07/26

Due to heavy rain, the only racing this Saturday comes from Te Repa.

In what is a competitive card ahead of the first race we have run our eye through the card and picked out some of our best horse racing tips. As well as our exclusive tips we have highlighted three races which look to be the most competitive of the day. Whether you want to back a short priced favourite, or a horse at longer odds, read on as we have every angle covered.

Swiss Prince – 2.75

Quondo – 3.00

Brass Monkey – 12.00

BEST BET – Swiss Prince

In the third race of the day Swiss Prince is the class angle and his form stands out. Having finished second in the Levin Classic, he couldn’t better that form when finishing second again here three weeks ago. The dangers look few and far between here and he is the one they will all need to beat.

THE DANGER – Quondo

Although Quondo doesn’t have the level of form that Swiss Prince boasts, he is the form horse of the race having won his last two races. He is ready for a crack at this level and could well serve it up to Swiss Prince. It should be a cracker of a contest.

VALUE BET – Brass Monkey

Although it is hard to look past the top two in the market, Brass Monkey could represent a bit of value. After an average run on his debut, he showed massive improvement to win at Tauranga two weeks ago. There could be more improvement to come and he could well compete in a race of this nature.

Amira D’argento – 6.50

Lotus – 7.00

BEST BET – Skattebo

It looks like the fifth race of the day could be the toughest to call. Skattebo could start as the warm favourite and there is plenty to like. With three wins in five starts, his last start at Waverley was impressive from off the front, and similar tactics will be employed here. This will be tougher but if allowed his way out in front he could be hard to stop.

THE DANGER – Amira D’argento

There are several dangers in the field but Amira D’argento could be one of the more likely winners. She’s had four starts at the track posting one victory and placing third twice. Conditions should be right up her street, and she can run another big race here.

VALUE BET – Lotus

Lotus could be a player at a bit of a price. A veteran at the track, she’s made nine starts here and recorded a victory and four more placed efforts. It's been over a year since she last tasted victory, but her second place effort at the track a few weeks ago makes her a contender.

Heza Sharp One – 11.00

Awhina – 23.00

BEST BET – Pacifico

The Paul Mcglade Taumarunui Gold Cup is the most valuable of the day and there are several horses who can win here. Pacifico has won two of his last four races, which includes a win at this grade. The best of his form is right up there amongst the best in the field, and a big run can be expected.

THE DANGER – Heza Sharp One

Heza Sharp One could run a big race here. Two wins have come from seven starts at the track and is what a loaded field, he has been drawn right on the rail. Conditions should be perfect as he relishes a heavy track and he can’t be discounted.

VALUE BET – Awhina

Awhina is our long shot horse of the day, and she comes into this race having won at Ruakaka a week ago. It is a short back up but that was one of the best runs of her career and she can’t be ignored here.
