The best racing in New Zealand this Saturday comes from Arawa Park where the action is headlined by the Rotura ITM Stakes.

BEST BET – Nigella Lane

In a stacked race, we are taking a chance that Nigella Lane might be able to spring a small upset. A winner of two of her last three runs, she found the Cuddle Stakes tough last time out, finishing well down the field. A return to this grade is a plus and she should be bang in contention.

THE DANGER – Kitty Flash

The undisputed danger of the race is Kitty Flash. Although she hasn’t been winning at Grade 2 and 3 level, she has placed on numerous occasions and brings the best form into the race. She should be competitive eased in grade and will attract plenty of support.

VALUE BET – My Lips Are Sealed

Mark Walker and Sam Bergerson horses always demand respect and at a decent price, My Lips Are Sealed should be worth a second look. She is another who found the Cuddle Stakes tough but has had success at this grade of racing. She should be competitive once again.

La Riviere – 7.00

BEST BET – Purosangue

In a maiden where several horses will be making their first start, connections of Purosangue will be hopeful that he will get off the mark with a victory here. The only horse with notable form, his second last time out at Matamata is by far the best form in the field and his experience could play a massive part here.

THE DANGER – Emac

When it comes to horses making their debuts, Emac looks like one of the eye catcher debutants. Well bred, his sire has a 9% strike rate which stacks up well in this field. He’s one to watch.

VALUE BET – La Riviere

La Riviere is another newcomer who deserves respect. Hailing from a yard who does well with his debutants he is another to watch with interest.

BEST BET – Morning Cocoa

Morning Cocoa is expected to jump off at the head of the market in the sixth race of the day. She ran a huge race last time out at Ellerslie, narrowly missing out. That form is amongst some of the best in this field and she can win in these calmer waters.

THE DANGER – Squire

Squire is one to watch with interest. He was a good winner last time out and takes small step down in class here. There isn’t anything to suggest that he can’t be competitive here and he should give the favourite plenty to think about.

VALUE BET – Slick Chick

Slick Chick is our value play of the day and there looks to be plenty to like about her chances. She placed last time out at Waipukurau but this is easier. A bold run can be anticipated.
