Some of the best racing in New Zealand this Saturday comes from Ruakaka.

Ahead of the first race we have run our eye through the card and picked out some of our best horse racing tips. As well as our exclusive tips we have highlighted three races which look to be the most competitive of the day. Whether you want to back a short priced favourite, or a horse at longer odds, read on as we have every angle covered.

Iridescent – 4.00

I’m Lulu – 7.50

BEST BET – Moneypenny

Race 3 will see Moneypenny start as the favourite and she will bid to try and land a fourth career victory. Having won four starts ago, she placed last time out and should be raring to go here. She carries less weight here and will be a more contender.

THE DANGER – Iridescent

One of the main dangers could well come from Iridescent. A winner of two of her last three, she arrives as the form horse and has two wins and a third place from her races here. Another big run can be expected here.

VALUE BET – I’m Lulu

I’m Lulu could represent the value here. Thriving before a 38 week break, she has proved she knows how to win at this grade and if fit and raring to go, she could certainly play a part.

BEST BET – Alker Traz

In race five Alker Trazis likely to be the huge favourite. Having only made the one start, he finished third on debut and there could be plenty more to come. That run came here so he has to enter the reckoning.

THE DANGER – Centanni

Although Centanni has something to find with Alker Traz, he could play a part here. He has made five starts and has placed on two different occasions. Craig Grylls takes the ride and he could well be the missing piece to guide him home.

VALUE BET – Chic Flix

Although the rank outsider, Chic Flix can’t be ruled out. Although a maiden after 30 starts, she has placed on ten occasions including two of her last five. She has one placed effort from her only start here and she could outrun her odds.

Perfectmanz – 21.00

BEST BET – Bourbon Proof

In the penultimate race of the day, Bourbon Proof will likely jump off as the favourite for victory. Although only a winner twice, he was only touched off by a neck last time out and that form stacks up well here. If he can repeat that effort here he should be right in the mix.

THE DANGER – Texas

There are several potential dangers, but Texas could be worth a second look. He finished just a place behind Bourbon Proof on his last start and is almost four times the price. A winner here and two places from his six starts out him bang in the mix.

VALUE BET – Perfectmanz

Perfectmanz is one of the outsiders in the field but his chances can’t be totally dismissed. He has two placed efforts from five efforts here and his form stacks up well with the bulk of the field. He can compete for the places here.
