The Ascot Park card this Sunday is headlined by several competitive handicap races.

Ahead of this and the first race we have run our eye through the card and picked out some of our best horse racing tips.

BEST BET – Tycoon Prince

Our best bet of the day comes in the fourth race of the card where we think Tycoon Prince will take all of the beating. A winner on debut for trainer Joanne Dalton on debut, he can follow up here. Expect him to front run and try to win from on the pace.

THE DANGER – Better Charmed

Without a doubt the main danger to Tycoon Prince has to be Better Charmed. A winner of three on the spin, she was upped in class last time out and found that a tough assignment. She returns to the level that has seen her gain significant success, and she looks to be in with a good chance here.

VALUE BET – Deciphering Me

At a price, Deciphering Me could be worth a second glance. Although she has gone well over a year without a win, she bounced back to form with a promising run last time out at Ellerslie and could be competitive here.

BEST BET – A Mandarin

Having notched several wins at Ascot Park and having won last time out, A Mandarin sets the benchmark in the feature race of the day. Conditions will be perfect, and he could be a tough nut to crack.

THE DANGER – Prince Alby

Connections of Prince Alby will be confident that their charge can land a twelfth victory of his career and first at this track. Likely to be the pace angle, he will make it a true stamina test and if his rivals aren’t up to their best, he could be hard to peg back.

VALUE BET – Par Tee

If those at the top of the market don’t appeal, then Par Tee could be the way to play. A winner of four starts at the track, there are several factors that weigh in his favour and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he were to poke his head in front.

BEST BET – Flash Roca

In race five, Flah Roca will be a popular selection. Having won here in April, she has had two further starts in slightly better races and returns to a winnable race. She is consistent and in good form, she is the one to beat.

THE DANGER – Vino Valentino

The danger to Flash Roca looks to be Vino Valentino. Another consistent type, she has finished third in her last three starts, including when last seen at this track. She has form to find with Flash Roca but shouldn’t be too far away.

VALUE BET – Meglomaniac

Our value play of the day is Meglomaniac and we hope that he will be outrun his odds. A winner at Wingatui, he flattered to deceive when last seen at Riverton. Looking for a quick bounceback, he doesn’t have the best record here but connections will be hopeful that a return to form is possible.
