Sunday Racing Tips - Te Repa 12/04/26

The Te Repa card this Sunday is headlined by several competitive handicap races.

Ahead of this and the first race we have run our eye through the card and picked out some of our best horse racing tips.

As well as our exclusive tips we have highlighted three races which look to be the most competitive of the day. Whether you want to back a short priced favourite, or a horse at longer odds, read on as we have every angle covered.

Altari – 4.60

Proboy – 6.00

Astarte – 6.00

BEST BET – Astarte

We are taking a chance in the second race of the day with Astarte. As consistent as they come she has recorded two seconds and two wins in her last four starts and is bidding for a third successive win here. This will be her first start here, but she can’t be ignored.

THE DANGER – Altari

The most obvious danger will come in the form of Altari. Representing top class connections, he has been unlucky not to have won at the track previously having posted two seconds. He will hit the front and will look to dictate the pace throughout.

VALUE BET – Proboy

Proboy heads into this race fresh off a win at Wanganui a few weeks ago and looks attractively priced. The wet track will be exactly to his liking and he warrants real respect.

Passiflora – 5.50

Mazino – 6.50

BEST BET – Mazino

Another chance is taken in the fourth race of the day with Mazino. She just has the one win from her last six starts but four of those have seen her finish second. She is proven at this level and will be a huge danger to all.

THE DANGER – Rioja

Rioja is the most obvious danger. Still unexposed after just three starts, she broke her maiden in good style last time out at Matamata. This represents a hike up in terms of class but she could be too classy for the bulk of this field.

VALUE BET – Passiflora

Passiflora is hard to ignore at the prices. Yet to finish outside of the places on any of her five starts, she has won at this grade and placed twice. She has been drawn out wide which is a concern but she can win here if she breaks well.

Track Tester – 8.00

Bharnstorm – 15.00

BEST BET – Thumbelina

Thumbelina is likely to be one of the best backed horses of the day and its easy to see why. After a slow start to her career, she was hugely impressive last time out at Pukekohe Park to break her maiden and could take this step up in class in her stride.

THE DANGER – Track Tester

Track Tester has raced five times and has posted one win. She was unlucky not to have won last time out when just collared late. That run came in this class and connections can be hopeful of another big run.

VALUE BET – Bharnstorm

Those at the top of the market will be hard to oppose, but one to take a look at could be Bharnstorm. She has placed second in three of her six starts and got off the mark last time out at Matamata. She has been off for four months and has fitness to prove, but she could be one for the shortlist.
