Sunday Racing Tips - Te Repa 24/05/26

The Te Repa card this Sunday is headlined by several competitive handicap races.

Ahead of this and the first race we have run our eye through the card and picked out some of our best horse racing tips.

As well as our exclusive tips we have highlighted three races which look to be the most competitive of the day. Whether you want to back a short priced favourite, or a horse at longer odds, read on as we have every angle covered.

Selections:

Pacheco – 2.20

Squire – 3.00

Lord Spencer – 10.00

BEST BET – Pacheco

Although a leap of faith is required, Pacheco should be the best horse in the race and could be tough to stop. Usually raced at a much higher level than this, he has an additional 7kg to carry here but on his best form he is a class above. Connections want to see him winning again and he looks to have a golden chance.

THE DANGER – Squire

Although on their best form Squire has plenty to find with Pacheco, if the favourite fails to fire this could be where Squire could be a threat. With three wins from four visits to the track as well as two wins from two at the distance there is plenty to like.

VALUE BET – Lord Spencer

The value play of the contest looks to lie with Lord Spencer. Having just missed out at Hawera and Waverley, he landed the odds when winning last time out at Woodville. This is far tougher but a place isn’t out of the equation.

I’m Quinn – 9.00

BEST BET – The Spaniard

In the third race of the day, we have tipped up The Spanaird. We have had our fingers burnt in the past but in a race of this context his consistency stands him in good stead. He has a great chance of breaking his maiden here.

THE DANGER – Moretothinkabout

Moretothinkabout has placed twice in seven starts. There is a chance that both he and The Spaniard could take each other on for the lead and it could be a case of who lasts home best.

VALUE BET – I’m Quinn

Whilst the top two in the market look hard to oppose, I’m Quinn could end up snatching a place. An eight runner maiden, he has placed on three occasions, so has come close to breaking his duck before. He has form to prove but can’t be completely discounted.

She’s Untouchable – 3.50

Whistler – 10.00

Horrie – 17.00

BEST BET – She’s Untouchable

She’s Untouchable is likely to start the lucky last as the favourite. Having raced at a higher level than this in the past, she is tumbling down the weights and looks to have the perfect chance of getting back into the winner’s circle here. She is the one to beat.

THE DANGER – Whistler

Whistler won on his last start and having only had three runs is still unexposed in comparison to most of this field. This is a step up in class but the ground should be perfect and a big run can be expected if a break of three weeks has done him no harm.

VALUE BET – Horrie

Horrie is our value play of the day and despite being a long shot could play a part here. A winner at Te Aroha at the start of the year, he found his last start at Ellerslie too tough to handle. This is far easier and if his last run is ignored he could play a major part here.
