Sunday Racing Tips - Timarau 07/06/26

The Timarau card this Sunday is headlined by several competitive handicap races.

Ahead of this and the first race we have run our eye through the card and picked out some of our best horse racing tips.

BEST BET – Incredible

Our best bet of the day comes from the seventh race of the day where Incredible will be hoping to land the fourth success of his career. Having won at Ashburton three starts ago, he was just denied last time out at Riccarton Park and is in a good vein of form. This is easier and he should go close.

THE DANGER – Cherryville

Cherryville could be the danger here. Boasting a similar profile to Incredible, he is looking for a first victory in well over a year. However, he has placed on 41% of all his starts and has form that would rival most in this field. He should go close yet again.

VALUE BET – Cosmetic Virtue

Cosmetic Virtue is somewhat of a veteran at the track and will be making his eighth start here. Having previously won, she also has a second and third place to her name. With winning experience around here, she can’t be discounted.

Celestial Flame – 10.00

BEST BET – Celestial Flame

In the eighth race of the day Celestial Flame could be the one to back despite her double figure price. She cruised home at Ascot Park last time out and the conditions should be very similar to what she experienced that day. There is plenty to like and she might be a little overpriced.

THE DANGER – Jack Crabb

Jack Crabb will be a huge threat. A winner four starts ago, he was unlucky not to follow that up at Riccarton last time out. He will be making his first start around here but if he runs to his best he will be in the mix.

VALUE BET – Lucky Ferrando

If you feel that Celestial Flame is too big a risk, then the safer option could be Lucky Ferrando. One win from sixteen starts doesn’t inspire much confidence, but he has placed on 38% of all his starts and usually gives his running. He should be in the mix for another place here.

Marella Miss – 8.50

Hayworth – 16.00

BEST BET – Storms Ahead

In the lucky last Storms Ahead is likely to start the race as the favourite but it certainly won’t be as easy. Since winning two in a row, three poor runs have followed but with Tina Cominaghi on board it's usually a different story. She has a 29% strike rate for these connections and that is hard to ignore. He should be right in the mix here.

THE DANGER – Marella Miss

Marella Miss will be making her first start here and will be looking for a third race win. Her best form has come when the rain has come and conditions should be perfect here. She has returns after seven days following a poor showing last time out at Wingatui, if that has had no effect she should find herself in contention.

VALUE BET – Hayworth

Hayworth is our long shot of the day and there will be hopes from her connections that she can outrun her odds here. Having just made seven starts, she is still relatively unexposed to most in this lineup and her win at Tauherenikau three starts is amongst the best form in the field. Don’t discount her chances.
