BEST BET – What A Yarn

What A Yarn will hope to get punters off to a great start in the first race of the day. In what is only a field of five, What A Yarn boasts the best of the recent form. A winner of three of his last six starts, he has two wins from seven starts here and will love the conditions. He sets an impressive standard.

THE DANGER – Lerado

All the horses are well matched and one of the main dangers looks to be Lerado. The most experienced horse in the field he has seven wins from 42 starts and could add another win here. He is formidable here with two wins and two thirds from five track starts.

VALUE BET – Kasukedo

Some value could be found with Kasukedo. Although he isn’t a prolific winner, he usually gives his running and has placed in his last four starts. Over half of his career starts have come here and it would be a surprise if he wasn’t fighting it out at the business end of proceedings.

Get Me An Angel – 6.00

BEST BET – Lady Iris

In the sixth race of the day Lady Iris and Anton are expected to battle it out, but we will give the nod to Lady Iris. Highly thought of, she has raced twice in a Group 3 but has been a bit of a non-factor. Returned to this level she has been solid and was a winner here last time out. This could be another race where she excels.

THE DANGER – Anton

Anton is the most obvious danger. He hasn’t quite scaled the heights of Lady Iris but has produced several promising runs at this grade. He has four wins from his last seven starts with all of them coming here. He has form to find but can’t be dismissed.

VALUE BET – Get Me An Angel

Get Me An Angel could be the value play from this six-runner race. Unexposed compared to most in the field, she returns after a 32-week absence but has been competing in a higher level of racing than this. Already a winner in her three career starts, if fit enough, she could go close.

In the final race of the day El Speedy Man looks like the horse to beat. Having only made four starts, he posted two seconds before finally getting off the mark last time out. Three of those four runs have come here and as of yet he is yet to finish outside of the places. This is trickier but he should go well.

THE DANGER – Above The Clouds

Above The Clouds hhas amassed the most prize money out of all the horses in this field and she should compete here. She has been racing at a higher level of late and although she hasn’t made a mark, a return to this track has to be seen as a major positive. She has three wins from seven starts, and she should be a contender yet again.

VALUE BET – Jack In The Box

Jack In The Box is our value play of the race, and he has plenty of experience to call upon. He has raced at this track five times and has been a winner over the synthetic surface. A winner two starts ago at Arawa Park, there is an expectation that the step up in distance should really suit.
