The bulk of the field is made up with new entrants but the one other horse with experience is Phillyjean. She was able to finish second on debut and was unlucky not to have won – she could come on for that run and could play a massive part here.

VALUE BET – Admiral Vos

Admiral Vos is arguably the standout newcomer and could play a part if getting the hang of things. Nicely bred, he is expected to be better than this field and could be a danger if the penny drops.

BEST BET – The Spanaird

The Spanaird will be the favourite for the third race and connections will be hoping it is a case of fourth time lucky. With two thirds from his three starts he has been unlucky not to get off the mark as of yet, but that win could come here.

THE DANGER – Da Ace

Da Ace has gone six starts without a victory, but he seems to be finally getting the hang of things. His last two starts have seen a second and a third place finish and that form is competitive here. A big run can be expected and he could be a player at a price.

VALUE BET – Jachimo

At a nice double figure price Jachimo makes some appeal. A three-start maiden, he produced his best run to date when finishing as the runner up at Arawa last time out. That was a good run, and he isn’t out of place in this lineup. If more rain comes, his price will shorten considerably.

In the penultimate race of the day, Erin Go Bragh will have plenty of backers. Representing a top yard, she takes a step down in class and should have perfect conditions. She has run once at a track which saw her finish second and she could go one place better here.

THE DANGER – Bellarista

Bellarista will be a danger to Erin Go Bragh. A winner of two of her last three, that last win came at the track, and she clearly feels at home here. Another bold bid can be expected and she brings in much better recent form than the favourite.

VALUE BET – Roaring Bebe

Roaring Bebe is one of the outsiders of the field but looks to be on a decent price. He has won this season at a higher level and a return to this level of racing could see him return to a better light. With conditions set to suit he can’t be discounted.
