In the seventh race of the day, Vendabelle will have plenty of followers. Although she just has two wins from 19 nineteen career starts, that win came two starts ago and she has been consistent with three placings in her last four starts. She has placed on her one and only start here and she should go well.

THE DANGER - Sarissa

Behind Vendabelle are plenty of dangers and Sarissa looks to be one of the main threats. She has placed twice in four visits to the track and was only just denied on her last run. She is well drawn here and makes plenty of appeal.

VALUE BET - El Ultimo

El Ultimo could be a player at a price. He usually does his racing at a higher level than this and having won four starts ago, that form is amongst the best on offer here. He needs to fire after two poor runs but could run a big race.

BEST BET - Student Of War

Student Of War is a thirteen-runner maiden, and whilst that isn’t a great stat, he has a great chance of breaking that sequence here. With most of his rivals out of form, his three placed efforts from his last three starts are easily the best form in this contest, and despite these near misses, he is the one to beat.

THE DANGER - Queen Courtney

Student Of War could be vulnerable to an improver and that improver could be Queen Courtney. Having just made five starts, she showed considerable improvement last time out to finish second at the track. The penny could have dropped, and she could be up for winning a race like this.

VALUE BET - Fah Wrong

A 21-runner maiden, Fah Wrong may not come across as the most obvious value play but could play a part here. He ran a great race to finish fourth out of fourteen runners on his last visit to the track. He has placed at a higher level than this and can’t be dismissed.

BEST BET - Novolette

In the final race of the card, Novolette will be hoping to send punters home happy. Hailing from one of the best yards in the country, this will be her first start on the synthetic surface and there are high hopes. She was a winner two starts ago at Ashburton and placed at Riccarton last time out. This is tougher but she should contend.

THE DANGER - Elegant Explosive

IElegant Explosive boasts a 38% strike rate but only has one win from 29 runs. However, having been tried up and down in distance a return to 1400m is by far her best trip. Having placed on at least 50% of all her starts at this distance, she could go close.

VALUE BET - Grouse

IGrouse is our long shot of the day and despite her price she has a great chance. A winner last time out at Riccarton Park that is decent form and a repeat of that could see her outrun her odds.
