Canterbury Bulldogs vs Penrith Panthers
Kicking things off in Round 6 are the Bulldogs and Panthers. Can anyone stop the Panthers? They have won all five of their games and have a massive points differential of 150. Yes, 150, in just five games! The Bulldogs are the rank outsiders and have lost their last two games to the Knights and Rabbitohs. To make matters worse, their captain, Stephen Crichton, is likely to miss multiple weeks with an AC joint injury.
Mitch Kenny returns from suspension for the Panthers, but other than that, they look like an extremely settled side. In five games, they have let their opponents score just 40 points. Top that with the fact that they have scored the most points so far in the NRL this season, they are a hard team to beat. The Storm couldn’t even come close last time out, with the Panthers winning 50-10.

| Panthers 13+ | NZ$1.55 | |
| Total Points - Over 46.5 | NZ$1.90 |
Predicted Squads
Canterbury Bulldogs - Connor Tracey, Jacob Kiraz, Enari Tuala, Bronson Xerri, Marcelo Montoya, Matt Burton, Lachlan Galvin, Max King, Bailey Hayward, Samuel Hughes, Viliame Kikau, Jacob Preston, Jaeman Salmon, Kurt Mann, Sitili Tupouniua, Harry Hayes & Sean O'Sullivan
Penrith Panthers - Dylan Edwards, Thomas Jenkins, Paul Alamoti, Casey McLean, Brian To'o, Blaize Talagi, Nathan Cleary, Moses Leota, Mitch Kenny, Lindsay Smith, Isaiah Papali'i, Liam Martin, Isaah Yeo, Jack Cogger, Billy Phillips, Scott Sorensen & Luke Garner
St. George Illawarra Dragons vs Manly Sea Eagles
To kick things off on Friday night, we have the Dragons and Sea Eagles. Things are getting ugly for the Dragons. Their fans booed them in their last game, and coach Shane Flanagan is well and truly on the chopping block after a 0-5 start to the season. Now, they play a team that sacked their coach after just three games. The Sea Eagles played their first game under Kieran Foran last time out, and got a shock win in Queensland over the Dolphins, 52-18.
In some good news for the Dragons, the Sea Eagles have just a 17% win rate here at WIN Stadium. Plus, Kyle Flanagan could return sooner than expected, even for this round. For the Sea Eagles, Jason Saab returns from his suspension. Two teams sitting in the bottom half of the ladder will obviously be looking for a win. A loss here for the Dragons could very well spell the end of their coach.
| Bookmaker | Katherine’s Tip | Odds |
| Sea Eagles to win | NZ$1.50 | |
| Sea Eagles to win | NZ$1.53 | |
| Sea Eagles to win | NZ$1.50 |
Predicted Squads
St. George Illawarra Dragons - Tyrell Sloan, Christian Tuipulotu, Moses Suli, Valentine Holmes, Setu Tu, Lyhkan King-Togia, Kyle Flanagan, Emre Guler, Damien Cook, Toby Couchman, Luciano Leilua, Jaydn Su'A, Hamish Stewart, Daniel Atkinson, Jacob Liddle, Blake Lawrie & Jacob Halanaghu
Manly Sea Eagles - Tom Trbojevic, Jason Saab, Tolu Koula, Reuben Garrick, Lehi Hopoate, Luke Brooks, Jamal Fogarty, Taniela Paseka, Brandon Wakeham, Kobe Hetherington, Haumole Olakau'atu, Ben Trbojevic, Jake Trbojevic, Jake Simpkin, Corey Waddell, Ethan Bullemor & Siosiua Taukeiaho
Brisbane Broncos vs North Queensland Cowboys
We are treated to an all-Queensland battle on Friday night, but this one will look a little different for the Broncos. Michael Maguire has some serious re-jigging to do after his players are dropping like flies. The likes of Reece Walsh, Adam Reynolds and Ben Hunt are all out for this game and in all likelihood longer. For the Cowboys, both Braidon Burns and Sam McIntyre picked up ankle injuries in their Round 5 game.
Both teams come into this clash in good form, but at what cost? After a poor start to the season, the Broncos are now back in the top eight thanks to a hat-trick of wins over the Storm, Dolphins and Titans. The Cowboys have a hat-trick of wins of their own, with wins over the Titans, Storm and Dragons. It seems like the Broncos always seem to have the Cowboys’ number, especially at Suncorp Stadium, but this one could be close.
Predicted Squads
Brisbane Broncos - Jesse Arthars, Deine Mariner, Kotoni Staggs, Gehamat Shibasaki, Josiah Karapani, Ezra Mam, Thomas Duffy, Corey Jensen, Cory Paix, Payne Haas, Brendan Piakura, Jordan Riki, Patrick Carrigan, Xavier Willison, Ben Talty, Jaiyden Hunt & Blake Mozer
North Queensland Cowboys - Scott Drinkwater, Robert Derby, Jaxon Purdue, Tom Chester, Murray Taulagi, Jake Clifford, Tom Dearden, Coen Hess, Reed Mahoney, Jason Taumalolo, Heilum Luki, Sam McIntyre, Reuben Cotter, Soni Luke, Griffin Neame, Thomas Mikaele & Matthew Lodge
Key NRL Betting Influencers - Round 6
A lot is happening this round, but here are the key factors that will most likely impact your bets:
- The Panthers have been scoring points for fun, no matter which team they are facing. They don’t seem to be slowing down, and I expect they’ll pour on the points again here.
- Both the Storm and Warriors will be desperate to put an end to their losing streak. The Storm look more likely, though, especially at AAMI Park, where the Warriors have won just 20% of their games.
- The Tigers have been the surprise team of the season so far, and the same can be said about the Knights. I think the Tigers will fire up playing their first game of the season at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.
Multi of the Week
My multi of the week comes across three different games in Round 6:
- Leg 1 - Canterbury Bulldogs vs Penrith Panthers
- Leg 2 - Melbourne Storm vs New Zealand Warriors
- Leg 3 - Wests Tigers vs Newcastle Knights
| Legs | Odds |
| Total Points - Over 46.5 | NZ$1.90 |
| Storm to win | NZ$1.40 |
| Tigers to win | NZ$1.71 |

South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Canberra Raiders
The Rabbitohs are in the top four, and they head to Optus Stadium in Perth to take on the Raiders in the first of three games on Saturday. With wins over the Tigers and Bulldogs, the Rabbitohs come into this clash as the favourites. Meanwhile, the Raiders are struggling right now and have lost their last four games in a row. Now, they are sitting in 16th spot on the ladder.
These two teams have played each other 34 times since 1998, and the Raiders have won on 20 of those occasions, including the last two games. When a team is on a losing streak, it can be difficult to snap out of it. Maybe a neutral venue is just what the Raiders need? I don’t think they are a bad team; they just haven’t been clicking. They’ll need to turn it around soon if they want to be considered a threat for the Premiership.

Predicted Squads
South Sydney Rabbitohs - Jye Gray, Alex Johnston, Latrell Mitchell, Jack Wighton, Campbell Graham, Cody Walker, Jamie Humphreys, Tevita Tatola, Bronson Garlick, Keaon Koloamatangi, David Fifita, Tallis Duncan, Cameron Murray, Brandon Smith, Lachlan Hubner, Sean Keppie & Liam Le Blanc
Canberra Raiders - Kaeo Weekes, Savielo Tamale, Simi Sasagi, Sebastian Kris, Jed Stuart, Ethan Strange, Ethan Sanders, Josh Papali’i, Tom Starling, Joe Tapine, Hudson Young, Noah Martin, Corey Horsburgh, Jayden Brailey, Zac Hosking, Ata Mariota & Morgan Smithies
Cronulla Sharks vs Sydney Roosters
For the second game at Optus Stadium in Perth, we have the Sharks up against the Roosters. This looks to be a fairly even clash, and the Sharks are currently sitting in sixth spot on the ladder, with the Roosters down in 10th. The Sharks will be looking to build on their back-to-back wins over the Raiders and then the Warriors last time out. The Roosters had their bye last round, but have won two of their last three games over the Rabbitohs and Sea Eagles.
Jesse Ramien looks set for a stint on the sidelines for the Sharks after leaving the field with a medial ligament knee injury in the game against the Warriors. In some welcome news for the Roosters, we could see both Spencer Leniu and Egan Butcher return from injury for this one. The Sharks have won the last two games against the Roosters and seem to have more consistency right now. I’ll give the slight edge to the Sharks.
Predicted Squads
Cronulla Sharks - Will Kennedy, Sione Katoa, Sifa Talakai, KL Iro, Sam Stonestreet, Braydon Trindall, Nicho Hynes, Addin Fonua-Blake, Blayke Brailey, Toby Rudolf, Billy Burns, Teig Wilton, Jesse Colquhoun, Mawene Hiroti, Thomas Hazelton, Oregon Kaufusi & Briton Nikora
Sydney Roosters - James Tedesco, Daniel Tupou, Billy Smith, Robert Toia, Mark Nawaqanitawase, Daly Cherry-Evans, Sam Walker, Naufahu Whyte, Reece Robson, Lindsay Collins, Angus Crichton, Siua Wong, Egan Butcher, Connor Watson, Blake Steep, Victor Radley & Hugo Savala
Melbourne Storm vs New Zealand Warriors
Wrapping things up on Saturday night, we have the Storm welcome the Warriors to AAMI Park. Both teams have been on a slide in their last few games and will be desperate to turn things around. The Storm are currently sitting outside the top eight for the first time in what feels like forever. The Warriors are still in the top eight, but it’s been a bit of a fall from the top of the ladder.
The Storm have lost their last three in a row to the Broncos, Cowboys and Panthers. Craig Bellamy has threatened to drop some players, but he’ll probably wait to see how this one goes. The Warriors have lost their last two games to the Tigers and Sharks. Luke Metcalf suffered a hamstring strain for the Warriors and will likely miss this one, as is also the case for Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, who suffered a head knock.
Predicted Squads
Melbourne Storm - Sua Fa'alogo, Will Warbrick, Jack Howarth, Nick Meaney, Siulagi Tuimalatu-Brown, Cameron Munster, Jahrome Hughes, Stefano Utoikamanu, Harry Grant, Josh King, Joe Chan, Alec MacDonald, Trent Loiero, Tyran Wishart, Davvy Moale, Jack Hetherington & Cooper Clark
New Zealand Warriors - Taine Tuaupiki, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, Ali Leiataua, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, Chanel Harris-Tavita, Tanah Boyd, James Fisher-Harris, Wayde Egan, Jackson Ford, Leka Halasima, Jacob Laban, Erin Clark, Sam Healey, Kurt Capewell, Demitric Vaimauga & Tanner Stowers-Smith
Parramatta Eels vs Gold Coast Titans
The Eels are back at CommBank Stadium after their Golden Point loss against the Tigers last time out. They will be looking to rebound quickly against the team that is just one step below them on the ladder, the Titans. That loss to the Tigers is the Eels’ second in a row, after also going down to the Panthers, 20-48. The Titans were decent enough against the Broncos last time out, but still went down, 12-26.
The backline for the Eels has been completely destroyed, and coach Jason Ryles has a lot of work to do. Most notably, Bailey Simonsson suffered a dislocated ankle for the Eels, and Jonah Pezet also suffered a hamstring strain. With this one being played at CommBank Stadium, I have to give the slight edge to the Eels. They also didn’t play that poorly against the Tigers.
Predicted Squads
Parramatta Eels - Joash Papali'i, Apa Twidle, Brian Kelly, Dylan Walker, Josh Addo-Carr, Ronald Volkman, Mitchell Moses, Jack Williams, Ryley Smith, Junior Paulo, Kelma Tuilagi, Kitione Kautoga, Charlie Guymer, Tallyn Da Silva, Sam Tuivaiti, Jack de Belin & Luca Moretti
Gold Coast Titans - Keano Kini, Sialetili Faeamani, Jojo Fifita, AJ Brimson, Phillip Sami, Lachlan Ilias, Jayden Campbell, Klese Haas, Sam Verrills, Tino Fa'asuamaleaui, Arama Hau, Beau Fermor, Chris Randall, Kurtis Morrin, Cooper Bai, Moeaki Fotuaika & Oliver Pascoe
Wests Tigers vs Newcastle Knights
I don’t think many would have predicted this would be a top-four clash, but here we are! The Tigers play their first game of the year at Campbelltown Sports Stadium, and they welcome the Knights. Both teams have seen injuries to key players, but have continued to plough on successfully. The Tigers have won their last two games over the Warriors and Eels, while the Knights have also won their last two games, over the Bulldogs and Raiders.
Another injury concern for the Knights with Bradman Best going down with a groin strain and is set for multiple weeks on the sideline. The Tigers and Knights split their last two games in the 2025 season, and both those clashes were low scoring. While the Tigers don’t have the best record at Campbelltown Sports Stadium, I think they’ll rise to the occasion and show everyone just how big a threat they are this year.
Predicted Squads
Wests Tigers - Jahream Bula, Sunia Turuva, Starford To'a, Heamasi Makasini, Faaletino Tavana, Jock Madden, Adam Doueihi, Terrell May, Api Koroisau, Fonua Pole, Samuela Fainu, Kai Pearce-Paul, Alex Twal, Latu Fainu, Sione Fainu, Royce Hunt & Alex Seyfarth
Newcastle Knights - Fletcher Hunt, Dominic Young, Dane Gagai, Wilson De Courcey, Greg Marzhew, Fletcher Sharpe, Sandon Smith, Jacob Saifiti, Phoenix Crossland, Trey Mooney, Dylan Lucas, Jermaine McEwen, Mat Croker, Harrison Graham, Tyson Frizell, Pasami Saulo & Thomas Cant
