NRL 2025 Round 25 – Betting Tips, Odds & Predictions

NRL 2025 Round 25
We’re really getting to the pointy end of things now. There are just three rounds left in the regular season, and things are pretty tight on the ladder. Some teams have already booked their place in the top eight, while others hold just a mathematical chance of making the finals. The Raiders, who had their bye last round, remain at the top of the ladder. Meanwhile, it’s the Titans who still hold onto the wooden spoon.
Round 25 awaits, so let’s get stuck into some 2025 NRL predictions for all the action!

South Sydney Rabbitohs vs St. George Illawarra Dragons
We kick things off with a game where teams are just playing for pride. The Rabbitohs welcome the Dragons to Accor Stadium, and Alex Johnston is just four tries away from becoming the player with the most tries in the history of the NRL. Can he do it tonight? It’s probably a tough ask, but it will bring fans out just in case. The Rabbitohs have managed to win their last two games, despite all their injury woes.
The Dragons were on a two-game winning streak, but the Warriors took care of them in New Zealand. That was a close game, though. The two teams have faced off already this season, in Round 2, and it was the Rabbitohs that got the 25-24 win. All eyes will be on Latrell Mitchell to see if he can overcome his back issue. Jaydn Su'A will return for the Dragons, along with Michael Molo and Blake Lawrie.
Predicted Squads
South Sydney Rabbitohs - Jye Gray, Alex Johnston, Latrell Mitchell, Isaiah Tass, Tyrone Munro, Cody Walker, Jamie Humphreys, Siliva Havili, Peter Mamouzelos, Sean Keppie, Jacob Host, Tallis Duncan, Jai Arrow, Lachlan Hubner, Liam Le Blanc, Brandon Smith & Thomas Fletcher
St. George Illawarra Dragons - Clint Gutherson, Corey Allan, Hayden Buchanan, Mathew Feagai, Christian Tuipulotu, Lyhkan King-Togia, Kyle Flanagan, Emre Guler, Damien Cook, David Klemmer, Luciano Leilua, Jaydn Su'A, Michael Molo, Jacob Liddle, Blake Lawrie, Loko Pasifiki Tonga & Jacob Halangahu
Penrith Panthers vs Canberra Raiders
This shapes up to be one of the games of the round, and a chance to see if the Raiders are genuine Premiership contenders as they go up against the four-time Premiers, the Panthers. The Panthers took on the Storm last time out and couldn’t get the job done in a thrilling contest, 18-22. Meanwhile, the Raiders have been putting their feet up, as they had the bye last round.
The loss to the Storm last time out brought the Panthers’ nine-game winning streak to an end, and it also pushed them out of the top four. Another loss here certainly doesn’t do a lot for their top-four dreams. A loss for the Raiders opens the door for the Storm to potentially knock them off the top spot. So, there’s a lot to play for, and in games like this, defence is everything.

Predicted Squads
Penrith Panthers - Dylan Edwards, Thomas Jenkins, Izack Tago, Casey McLean, Brian To'o, Blaize Talagi, Nathan Cleary, Moses Leota, Mitch Kenny, Lindsay Smith, Luke Garner, Liam Martin, Isaiah Papali'i, Brad Schneider, Liam Henry, Matthew Eisenhuth & Scott Sorensen
Canberra Raiders - Kaeo Weekes, Jed Stuart, Matt Timoko, Sebastian Kris, Xavier Savage, Ethan Strange, Jamal Fogarty, Josh Papalii, Tom Starling, Joe Tapine, Hudson Young, Zac Hosking, Corey Horsburgh, Owen Pattie, Ata Mariota, Morgan Smithies & Matty Nicholson
Melbourne Storm vs Canterbury Bulldogs
It looks like Friday night is THE night, after the Panthers and Raiders, we are treated to the Storm and Bulldogs. This game could be a preview of what’s to come in the finals, and the Storm could potentially get to the top spot on the ladder if they win (and the Raiders lose the previous game). The Storm drew first blood over the Panthers last time out, and that could have been a preview for a finals match in a couple of weeks.
That win over the Panthers has taken the Storm’s winning streak to four. The Bulldogs have not been consistent as of late. They went down to the Tigers, then they beat the Warriors, but in their last game, they were beaten 12-32 by the Roosters. Even if this game wasn’t in Melbourne, I’d probably take the Storm, considering the game is at AAMI Park, which tips it well in favour of the Storm.
Predicted Squads
Melbourne Storm - Ryan Papenhuyzen, Grant Anderson, Nick Meaney, Marion Seve, Xavier Coates, Cameron Munster, Tyran Wishart, Stefano Utoikamanu, Harry Grant, Josh King, Shawn Blore, Eli Katoa, Trent Loiero, Jonah Pezet, Alec MacDonald, Tui Kamikamica & Nelson Asofa-Solomona
Canterbury Bulldogs - Connor Tracey, Jacob Kiraz, Bronson Xerri, Stephen Crichton, Marcelo Montoya, Matt Burton, Lachlan Galvin, Max King, Bailey Hayward, Sam Hughes, Viliame Kikau, Jacob Preston, Jaeman Salmon, Kurt Mann, Harry Hayes, Josh Curran & Reed Mahoney
Key NRL Betting Influencers - Round 25
A lot is happening this round, but here are the key factors that will most likely impact your bets:
- The Storm have won four in a row, including a win over the Panthers last time out. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs have been very inconsistent. With the game at AAMI Park, the Storm should win this.
- The Eels are out of finals contention, but the Roosters are well in the hunt, which puts some pressure on them. Not really sure which Eels team we’ll get, but with rain around, they are good enough to keep it close.
- The Tigers are playing at Leichhardt Oval, which always seems to spur them on. They are in some decent form coming into this one and shouldn’t have trouble beating the Cowboys.

Manly Sea Eagles vs Dolphins
The Sea Eagles, who are sitting in 10th spot, face off against the Dolphins, who are currently in ninth spot. Both teams have been on a little bit of a slide as of late, and a win here is essential to keep their finals hopes alive. Things look a lot more promising for the Dolphins, especially when you consider their points differential. The Sea Eagles did themselves no favours last time out, going down to the Tigers, 12-26.
There’s obviously a lot happening behind the scenes for the Sea Eagles, and they honestly didn’t look very good in that game with the Tigers. The Dolphins are the slight underdogs here, but I think they could cause an upset in Manly on Saturday. Reuben Garrick looks to be out for the Sea Eagles; meanwhile, both Francis Molo and Felise Kaufusi are set to return for the Dolphins.
Predicted Squads
Manly Sea Eagles - Tom Trbojevic, Jason Saab, Tolutau Koula, Tommy Talau, Lehi Hopoate, Luke Brooks, Daly Cherry-Evans, Matthew Lodge, Jake Simpkin, Siosiua Taukeiaho, Corey Waddell, Ben Trbojevic, Jazz Tevaga, Gordon Chan Kum Tong, Caleb Navale, Ethan Bullemor & Tof Sipley
Dolphins - Trai Fuller, Jamayne Isaako, Jake Averillo, Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, Tevita Naufahu, Kodi Nikorima, Isaiya Katoa, Francis Molo, Jeremy Marshall-King, Felise Kaufusi, Kulikefu Finefuiaki, Oryn Keeley, Kurt Donoghoe, Ray Stone, Mark Nicholls, Aublix Tawha & Josh Kerr
Gold Coast Titans vs New Zealand Warriors
The Titans welcome the Warriors to Cbus Super Stadium on the Gold Coast for the middle Saturday match. The Warriors managed a narrow win over the Dragons last time out, and with the Panthers losing, they have moved up into fourth on the ladder. On the flipside, the Titans are at the bottom of the ladder and will be fighting to not be handed the wooden spoon in a couple of weeks.
Interestingly, the Titans have won the last two games over the Warriors, including just a couple of rounds ago in Round 21, 24-16. That game was in New Zealand, and while this one is on the Gold Coast, the Warriors have a lot more to play for in this clash. Both Te Maire Martin and Kurt Capewell should return to the line-up for the Warriors, and Rocco Berry is a chance to return. Play it safe and take the Warriors to win outright.
Predicted Squads
Gold Coast Titans - AJ Brimson, Jaylan De Groot, Phillip Sami, Brian Kelly, Tony Francis, Kieran Foran, Jayden Campbell, Moeaki Fotuaika, Sam Verrills, Jaimin Jolliffe, Chris Randall, Beau Fermor, Tino Fa’asuamaleaui, Keano Kini, Reagan Campbell-Gillard, Iszac Fa’asumaleaui & Josh Patston
New Zealand Warriors - Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, Adam Pompey, Rocco Berry, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, Chanel Harris-Tavita, Tanah Boyd, James Fisher-Harris, Wayde Egan, Marata Niukore, Leka Halasima, Kurt Capewell, Erin Clark, Te Maire Martin, Eddie Ieremia-Toeava, Demitric Vaimauga & Tanner Stowers-Smith
Parramatta Eels vs Sydney Roosters
The Eels can play spoiler for the Roosters in this Saturday night clash. With the Eels sitting in 14th spot, they can’t make the finals, but the Roosters, who are currently in eighth spot, are well and truly in the hunt. A loss today for the Roosters could see them drop outside the top eight. They seem to be peaking at the right time, though, with three wins in a row over the Bulldogs, Dolphins and Sea Eagles.
The Eels lost in a close one to the Rabbitohs last time out, 16-20. They have been inconsistent all season, playing some great games, and there have been some performances they would rather forget about. The Eels and Roosters haven’t played each other yet this season, but it is the Roosters that have won the last two games over the Eels. With rain around, I think this one will be a low-scoring, close battle.
Predicted Squads
Parramatta Eels - Isaiah Iongi, Zac Lomax, Will Penisini, Dylan Brown, Josh Addo-Carr, Joash Papali’i, Mitch Moses, J’maine Hopgood, Ryley Smith, Junior Paulo, Charlie Guymer, Jack Williams, Luca Moretti, Tallyn Da Silva, Dylan Walker, Matt Doorey & Kelma Tuilagi
Sydney Roosters - James Tedesco, Daniel Tupou, Billy Smith, Robert Toia, Mark Nawaqanitawase, Hugo Savala, Sam Walker, Naufahu Whyte, Connor Watson, Lindsay Collins, Angus Crichton, Siua Wong, Victor Radley, Benaiah Ioelu, Egan Butcher, Salesi Foketi & Spencer Leniu
Newcastle Knights vs Brisbane Broncos
Kicking off Sunday’s games are the Knights up against the Broncos. The Knights are fighting to not be stuck with the wooden spoon, while the Broncos are nestled nicely in the top eight. They are in a little bit of an odd position because a couple of wins could see them in the top four, while a couple of losses could see them drop outside the top eight. The Broncos have dominated this matchup in the past, winning on 27 occasions, to the Knights’ 15.
The Knights have been sliding for a while now, losing six games, and they were terrible last time out against the Cowboys, going around 4-38. The Broncos have gone win-loss-win-loss-win in their last five games, and they were able to get the job done over the Dolphins last time out, 38-28. These teams haven’t played each other yet this season, but the Broncos have won on the last two occasions.
Predicted Squads
Newcastle Knights - Connor Votano, Dom Young, Dane Gagai, Bradman Best, Greg Marzhew, Jake Arthur, Jack Cogger, Jacob Saifiti, Jayden Brailey, Leo Thompson, Jermaine McEwen, Kai Pearce-Paul, Phoenix Crossland, Tyson Frizell, Mat Croker, Thomas Cant & Brodie Jones
Brisbane Broncos - Reece Walsh, Josiah Karapani, Kotoni Staggs, Gehamat Shibasaki, Deine Mariner, Billy Walters, Ben Hunt, Corey Jensen, Cory Paix, Payne Haas, Brendan Piakura, Jordan Riki, Patrick Carrigan, Tyson Smoothy, Kobe Hetherington, Ben Talty & Jaiyden Hunt
Wests Tigers vs North Queensland Cowboys
The final game of Round 25 sees the Tigers up against the Cowboys. The game is at Leichhardt Oval, and we all know that the Tigers seem to grow another leg when playing here. We saw these two teams go up against each other in Round 13 this season, and it was the Cowboys who managed to get the job done, 32-28. A lot of their other recent games have been somewhat of a blowout for both teams.
The Tigers have won three of their last four games, and while a finals spot is unlikely, there’s still a chance! The Cowboys are out of it, so they will be playing for pride. At Leichhardt Oval, the Tigers fans will show up in force, and the players usually give them something great to watch. Take the Tigers to get the outright win here, which is still a little bit of value. If they can beat the Bulldogs, they can beat the Cowboys.
Predicted Squads
Wests Tigers - Jahream Bula, Sunia Turuva, Taylan May, Brent Naden, Jeral Skelton, Jarome Luai, Adam Doueihi, Terrell May, Api Koroisau, Fonua Pole, Samuela Fainu, Sione Fainu, Alex Twal, Latu Fainu, Royce Hunt, Charlie Murray & Tony Sukkar
North Queensland Cowboys - Scott Drinkwater, Semi Valemei, Jaxon Purdue, Viliami Vailea, Murray Taulagi, Jake Clifford, Tom Dearden, Jordan McLean, Reece Robson, Jason Taumalolo, John Bateman, Jeremiah Nanai, Reuben Cotter, Karl Lawton, Harrison Edwards, Kai O'Donnell & Thomas Mikaele
