Katherine’s Writing Philosophy

Katherine always takes a statistical approach to her writing, especially when writing sports tips content. While the numbers don’t lie, to get a more holistic approach, she won’t ignore her gut. She won’t make a claim without first fact-checking and only wants to provide the most accurate content possible.

Her tone and style are quite approachable, and she isn’t afraid to ruffle feathers with her opinion, as long as she’s got the statistics to back it up. She regularly makes bold calls within her content and doesn’t tend to go with the flow, just because it is easier than going against the grain.

Q&A with Katherine Mouradian

Sport has always been embedded in my lifestyle. I grew up around sport and never really looked back. After studying marketing at university, I knew I wanted to work within the sports industry in some capacity, and I was able to do that through SEO.

My favourite sport to watch has to be the F1. I have been following F1 for over 20 years, and grew up with the likes of Michael Schumacher. To me, it is the pinnacle of motor sport, and it’s great that there’s always an Aussie driver to follow as well.

Social media is an easy way for me to stay up to date with all the latest in sports. I have interacted with a lot of sports-related content in the past, so my feed is always filled with sports content. I follow all my favourite sports stars and teams on social media as well.

Most recently, the NRL game between the Canberra Raiders and the Brisbane Broncos in Week 1 of the Finals was incredible. I can’t remember the last time a Finals game went to overtime and then golden point. Also, the Raiders' thinking they had won the game not once, but twice, added to the drama as they eventually went down to the Broncos.

I honestly can’t remember a time I went that long without watching sports. Even when I was working full-time in an office, there were TV screens everywhere, showing sports. I went on an international holiday recently, and even then I managed to squeeze in a little bit of sport!
