The best racing this Saturday in New Zealand comes from Arawa Park where there are several competitive races to enjoy.

Ahead of the first race we have run our eye through the card and picked out some of our best horse racing tips. BEST BET – Dujardin

In our fourth race of the day, Dujardin could be a sensible bet. Although she hasn’t shown a great deal through her first three races, this race is at a much lower level than she is used too and she could well run a big race here and get off the mark. She represents top class connections and could be worth following.

THE DANGER – Last Wish

Last Wish is a newcomer and although lacks racetrack experience, it could be that this race won’t require a great deal of winning. She is decently bred and may find comfort at this level immediately.

VALUE BET – Starlight Express

Starlight Express is looking to get off the mark at the fourth time of asking and heads to Arawa Park fresh off the back of a decent second place effort at Te Aroha. This is a small class drop and she could be the value play of the contest.

Trouvaille – 8.50

BEST BET – Permissive

Just like our best bet Dujardin, Permissive has a very similar profile. Although only a winner of one of her eleven starts, she ran well when finishing as the runner up at Tauranga two weeks ago. She has competed at a higher grade than this at the past and may well have been found the perfect opportunity.

THE DANGER – Timbuctoo

Whilst Timbuctoo barely has a winning record to be scared of, she only went down by a neck on her last start at Te Aroha and that run was full of encouragement. Having perhaps turned the corner she could well serve it up to Permissive here.

VALUE BET – Trouvaille

Trouvaille could be the value play of the day. Although he takes to the track for the first time in almost three months, he returns to his ideal trip. The only win of his career has come over this distance and he could well run a big race if proving fit enough.

Urlar – 13.00

BEST BET – Amyer Star

Having only had five starts, Amyer Star is one of the most progressive horses in the field in the seventh race of the day. A winner on her debut, she has come close twice and may have been found the perfect opportunity to get back inside the winner’s circle. She should be much fitter than her last start where she finished last of twelve and should have come on plenty for the run, hopefully a line can be drawn through that effort here.

THE DANGER – Washi

By the time the race starts it could be that Washi starts as the favourite. She has placed twice in this grade and will look to dictate the tempo right from the start. If afforded a soft time of things, she could be difficult to peg back.

VALUE BET – Urlar

Urlar is our long shot of the day. Taking a drop down in class here, she could well be one of the classier horses in the field. When competing in races of this nature she has finished second on two occasions so should find her feet quickly. Although she hasn’t tasted success for over six months, she could well spring a surprise.
