The best racing this Saturday in New Zealand comes from Ellerslie.

Sterling Express has won six of his sixteen career starts and arrives at Ellerslie seeking a hattrick of wins. A winner of his last start over course and distance, he is likely to jump off as the favourite and will be a real threat to all in the race.

VALUE BET – Imprevu
If you want to back a horse at a bigger price, the horse to take a second look at is Imprevu. Nobody has won more prize money than Imprevu in the race and is a seasoned performer at this level. He arrives in decent form with a second place effort over course and distance when last on the track and he could bean outside threat here.

THE DANGER – War of Succession
War of Succession has won two of his last four starts and was a winner at the track last time out. If Precursor is at too short a price, he could be a nice alternative, but he is taking a big step up in trip here.

VALUE BET – Cyber Patch
Cyber Patch has just the one win from fifteen career starts, but he has hit the crossbar on several occasions with four second place efforts in his last eight races. A win could be a long shot but he could well be in the hunt for a placed effort.

In a race where plenty of horses arrive out of form, we are taking a chance that Fantastic Smile can back up his victory on debut and post another win here. Whilst he has to work hard for his win, there could be more to come this time around and he looks a fascinating runner here.

THE DANGER – Part Time Lover 
Part Time Lover is likely to start the race as the favourite. A hugely consistent performer he has one win in his seven starts but that did come a little while ago. He has only finished outside the places on two occasions and often finds one who is too good. That might be the case here.

VALUE BET – Chicago Jack
The booking of Craig Grylls on Chicago Jack is an interesting one and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he were to make the frame. With just one win in sixteen attempts, there is certainly form that can be picked at, but with a second place effort when last seen, he could be one for the watchlist.
