The only racing this Saturday from New Zealand comes from Ellerslie where the Skycity Champagne Stakes headlines the card.

In a race where any of the top three in the market look to hold a legitimate chance, it is Towering Vision who is likely to jump off as the favourite. This will be his fourth start and he heads to Ellerslie having won at Te Rapa two weeks ago. Craig Grylls takes the ride and this exciting two year old could take all the beating.

THE DANGER – Wyndstrom

The likely danger looks to be Wyndstrom. Having made the same number of starts as Towering Vision, he also has a win to his name and should go close here. His win came at this venue and he could go close once again.

VALUE BET – Do You Just

Do You Just finished behind Towering Vision at Te Rapa a few weeks ago and looks to need to find plenty to reverse those places. Still, with one placed finish from his three starts his chances can’t be completely discounted.

Velocious – 3.60

Lucullan – 10.00

BEST BET – Velocious

The sixth race of the card looks to be an open contest with the likely winner coming from either Celestial Wonder or Velocious . Despite Celestial Wonder’s chances we will side with Velocious who is taking a step down in class here. Finding Group 3 company too tough last time out, she could well reverse the form with Celestial Wonder this time around.

THE DANGER – Celestial Wonder

Celestial Wonder ran in the same Group 3 race as Velocious and was able to finish two places above her rival there. There isn’t much to separate the two and her connections will be hopeful that she can reaffirm that form once again. She will likely be the favourite and she holds a great chance.

VALUE BET – Lucullan

Beyond the top two it’s hard to make a case for many others, but one horse hoping that they can make a splash is Lucullan. A winner when last seen in much inferior company, this is a step up in class but he could cause a shock at a decent price.

BEST BET – Grande Gallo

The Network Visuals Handicap is one of the more competitive handicaps of the day and Grande Gallo looks to hold a great chance. A winner of five of his fourteen career starts, few can bring in that level as f form and he could be the horse to back in what will be a tight contest.

THE DANGER – Whisky N Roses

Whisky N Roses is likely to be the favourite for the race and he comes into this race off the back of two consecutive third place efforts. In a race where many arrive out of form, you know that he will give his running and this consistent sort could well land the third win of his career.

VALUE BET – Pericles

Pericles has run at far higher levels than this and with him arriving out of form, the hope that this race could see him return to his best. With his last win coming almost half a year ago plenty of faith may be required but he is capable.
