The best racing this Saturday in New Zealand comes from Ellerslie where the headline contest is the Group 1 Livamol Classic.

THE DANGER – Lollapalooza

The most obvious danger in the field has to be Lollapalooza. The two faced off against one another in the Group 3 Sunline Vase where it was Tajana who ran out the winner. That form could be overturned here and the two should be involved in the business proceedings of the contest.

VALUE BET – Places To Be

In a race where there looks to be several interesting contenders, it could be worth taking a flyer with Places To Be. A winner on debut, he has form to prove but, he is hugely unexposed and could be capable of massive improvement. He could be one to look at as an outside place candidate.

BEST BET – Waitak

In the feature race of the day it’s Waitak who is likely to jump as the favourite and this exciting year old is one of our best bets of the day. Having floundered in the Proisir Plate, he bounced back with a bang when landing the Howden Insurance Mile. That win was his second Group 1 victory and there could be more to come. The drying weather could be a concern and is worth monitoring before the race begins.

THE DANGER – El Vencedor

El Vencedor could be one of the best value horses of the day. A winner of four Group 1 races, he was disappointing in the Howden Insurance Mile, where he could only finish midway through the field. He has shown he has the class, he could well bounce back with a bang.

VALUE BET – Sharp N Smart

In a race where there are several leading contenders, backing experience can be a good way to go and there are few in the field that have as much as Sharp N Smart. This will be his 17th Group 1 contest and he will be looking for his 4th win. Whilst it’s been a while since he competed at this level, he can’t be completely discounted.

In the fifth race of the day there are a whole host of horses that could win, Zenith is one of the least experienced in the field and there could still be some improvement to come. Having won on debut, she has placed in two of his next three runs. Consistent, he could land a blow here.

THE DANGER – Top Dollar

Top Dollar broke his maiden tag at the eighth time of asking and with that win behind him, connections will be hoping for more. Whilst there is no guarantee that he will follow up here, he has to be one for the shortlist.

VALUE BET – Smart Tip

Our long shot of the day comes in the form of Smart Tip. Another one who shed his maiden tag during his last run, he is an experienced campaigner and could take a step forward here.
