In a field of ten, it could make sense to side with experience in this maiden and right at the top of the list is Navy Ensign. Having finished second in both runs so far, that form is the best in the race and his connections will hope that it’s a case of third time lucky.

THE DANGER – Woman In Charge

Whilst Woman In Charge doesn’t quite have the form of Navy Ensign, she is represented by top connections here and improvement could well come. With three runs in the board, she is yet to finish outside of the places and this represents a good chance to finally get off the mark.

VALUE BET – Ring of Appeal

Races of this nature are often hard to call and most in the field will believe that they have a chance. Right of Appeal represents a huge price, but has been improving with each and every run. His second place last time was the best of his career and that shouldn’t be ignored here.

BEST BET – Sweynesday

Sweynesday has some of the most consistent form in the entire field and takes a drop down in class here after a massive break. Having last raced on New Years Day, there are question marks over his fitness, but if he is raring to go, he will be tough to stop.

THE DANGER – Charmrose

Charmrose represents some strong connections and has been in excellent form of late. Having won her last two starts. This requires more but she should love conditions, and her recent form can’t be ignored.

VALUE BET – Miss Fladgate

Miss Fladgate is another who is on the up and also heads into this race having won each of her last two starts. She doesn’t have the form of those at the top of the market but represents some terrific value.

BEST BET – El Vencedor

El Vencedor has the best form and has also accumulated the most prize money in the field and another graded contest could well be his. A winner in his last start in similar company in the Balmerino Stakes, he will be one of the best bets of the entire day.

THE DANGER – Mary Shan

Mary Shan has won two of her last three and has competed all the way at the very highest level. Without a win in graded company, this would require a career best, but her most recent form can’t be ignored.

VALUE BET – Mahrajaan

Mahrajaan is our long shot of the day and will jump off at a massive price. He has been off the track for over a year and there are fitness concerns to overcome, however he has been tried and tested at higher levels than this and has some class. Whilst he might be best watched, he could also outrun his odds.
