Saturday Racing Tips - Pukekohe Park 22/11/25

The best racing this Saturday in New Zealand comes from Pukekohe Park where there are several graded races to enjoy.

In what is one of the best cards of the year, ahead of the first race we have run our eye through the card and picked out some of our best horse racing tips. As well as our exclusive tips we have highlighted three races which look to be the most competitive of the day. BEST BET – Provence

Arguably the best race of the day will come in the shape of the Grade 2 – Dunstan Horsefeed Auckland Thoroughbred Breeders’ Stakes. Provence is by no means favourite but has won at the very highest level with a victory in the Hkjc World Pool Nz Thoroughbred Breeders' Stakes. Her return to the track wasn’t the best with her finishing well down the field on her first run in eight months. Usually good second time up, expect a big run here.

THE DANGER – Jaarffi

Jaarffi could well be the favourite by the time the race jumps off. She renews rivalry with Provence having finished behind her in the HKJC Breeders’ Stakes but she comfortably beat her in her return in the Legacy Lodge Sprint. She looks to have come forward and could run a big race here.

VALUE BET – Arabian Songbird

Arabian Songbird might not have the form of either Provence or Jaarffi but she comes into this race in great form with two wins in her last two starts. This race will require a career best but her recent form is tough to ignore and she could be amongst the best of the value.

BEST BET – Twain

In the Group 3 Haunai Farm Counties Bowl Twain will be a popular selection. A winner of three of his last six races, he has had five weeks off following his victory in the Group 3 Sweynesse Stakes. That was the best win of his career and connections will hope there will one plenty more to come here.

THE DANGER – Midnight Edition

If Twain doesn’t quite live up to the hype then Midnight Edition could be a great alternative. Consistency is the name of the game for this four year old with him having been in the places in his last five runs. This includes two wins. He was second in the Sweynesse but he will hope to get the better of Twain this time around.

VALUE BET – Hitabell

The best value of the race could well lie with a Hitabell. At just four she is one of the youngest horses in the race but she she has some great form. Having won the Group 2 Hallmark Stud Eight Carat Classic last December she has the best form in the book, however, she has just had the one run since and her connections will hope that she can bring her best here.

Solidify - 12 – 17.00

BEST BET – Sharp N Smart

Sharp N Smart is a former New Zealand Derby winner with that win coming back in 2023. Amazingly that was his last victory but he has come close to breaking that sequence on several occasions. Having placed in the Livamol Classic and Balmerino Stakes he is in fine order and will hope to finally get that elusive win here.

THE DANGER – Gigi

With two wins in his last five races, Gigi brings in the best recent form and could be a player. Whilst those wins have come in handicap company and not quite at this level, the time to step up could be now.

VALUE BET – Solidify

Solidify could be a great shout for those who like to bet the odds. With four placed efforts in his last seven races he is a consistent performer at this level. Conditions should be fine so should the track, there is plenty to like.
