THE DANGER – Rubirosa

Rubirosa is likely to jump off as the favourite for the race but will be making his debut here. Backing a horse without experience always come with a risk but if he gets the handle of things, he could be a real threat to everyone.

VALUE BET – Four the Moment

Four the Moment will be making his third appearance, and he stepped up magnificently from his debut performance to win last time out. He is another who arrives thricing and he can certainly win this race.

Where’s Wally – 6.10

BEST BET – Magnastar

Whilst Magnastar isn’t the most experienced in this lineup, he enters this race, having won each of his last two starts and he is one of the form horses of the day. He likes to lead and if afforded a soft time of things out in front, he could be hard to peg back.

THE DANGER – Alminette

The vastly experienced Alminette is the most obvious danger. Without a win since last August, she has been knocking on the door and has placed in five of her last six starts at the track This is level she is used to operating in and things could finally land her way here.

VALUE BET – Where’s Wally

For those looking to back a horse at a price, Where’s Wally could be the play.

A winner of two of his last five starts, this represents a step up in class, but if those at the top of the market struggle, he could well pick up the pieces.

Royal Valour – 14.20

BEST BET – Bradman

In an open-looking edition of the Winter Cup, Bradman is likely to jump off as the slim favourite. Having placed in Group 3 company previously this is a race he can certainly win and he arrives in great form following a win at Trentham in June. He could well be the one to beat.

THE DANGER – Who Knows

Who Knows will be having his first crack in group company and will be looking to build on his victory at Wanganui a few weeks ago. Having won four of his thirteen starts he looks ready for a crack at a race like this and will be a danger to all.

VALUE BET – Royal Valour

Royal Valour has won three of his last four starts and looks to be the pick of the horses at double figure prices. This will be his toughest assignment to date but he could well pull off the upset.
