We are taking on Queen of Sheba but for many she will be the pick in this race. Yet to finish outside of the places in any of her four starts, she broke her maiden at Ashburton last time out and will look to follow up here. Consistent and with conditions to suit, she could be the one to back.

VALUE BET – Hello Hayley

Hello Hayley looks the value play of contest. She comes into this race with two consecutive wins and she is hard to look past. She has raced in better races than this and is definitely worth a market check.

In the Riverton Rural Transport Riverton Cup Smooth Operator will be easy to back. Taking a small step down in class, Tina Cominaghi takes the ride and she will be hoping to continue the excellent strike rate that she holds for Stephanie Faulkner.

THE DANGER – Sight To See

At the time of writing we don’t know if Sight To See will line up in the race, but if she does, she will have plenty of backers. She loves the track having won two of her five starts here. She was a good winner last time out and could build on that here.

VALUE BET – Taimate Diva

Taimate Diva is a big price but could well outrun her odds. Having won at Ashburton two starts ago, she couldn’t reproduce that effort in her last start but she looked a tired horse. Having had a month off the track that could see her return to a better light and at a big price she really stands out.

Express Coup is one of our selected bets of the day and we are hoping that she can spring a surprise in the fifth race of the day. Her Riverton form really stands out as she has won two of her three starts here and is taking a step down in class. There is plenty to like about her chances.

THE DANGER – Mystic Park

Mystic Park is a big class dropper here and makes obvious appeal. A winner of eight of his 23 starts, he knows where the finishing line is and he looks to have been ideally placed here. There is plenty to like and few would be surprised should he prove to be too good for the rest.

VALUE BET – Martell

If taking on Express Coup or Mystic Park then it could be worth chancing Martell. A winner of three in a row before finishing fourth last time out. He’s been freshened up with this being his first run in over five months and he loves heavy conditions. If ready to race he will be a threat to all.
