The best racing this Saturday in New Zealand comes from Te Rapa where there are several competitive graded races to enjoy.

Ahead of the first race we have run our eye through the card and picked out some of our best horse racing tips. BEST BET – Qali Al Farrasha

In the feature race of the day it looks like Qali Al Farrasha could be the horse to beat. A winner of his previous Grade 2 race the Dunstan Horsefeed Auckland Thoroughbred Breeders’ Stakes, there isn’t anything to suggest that she couldn’t follow that up here once again. She is likely to be one of the best bets of the day.

THE DANGER – Jaarffi

If wanting to take on Qali Al Farrasha, then the answer has to be with Jaarfi. She finished in third in the Dunstan Horsefeed Auckland Thoroughbred Breeders’ Stakes, two spots behind Qali Al Farrasha and that run wasn’t devoid of promise. She just finished two lengths behind that day and overturning the tables isn’t impossible.

VALUE BET – Hinekaha

Hinekaha could be the value play. She has won three of her last four races and brings in form that is hard to ignore. Whilst this is a level above, a big run can be expected.

BEST BET – Captured By Love

In the J Swap Sprint, a popular choice in the betting will be Captured By Love. Highly tried, he has placed in Group 2 level and in his last start was able to capture the Grade 3 Windsor Park Stud Canterbury Breeders’ Stakes. Used to competing in this sort of grade he will be a big factor.

THE DANGER – Smart Love

Smart Love is likely to start as the favourite and has won four races in succession. Whilst that winning run isn’t to be sniffed at, those have all come in much weaker company than this. He could well take this step up in class with ease but he could also be taken on.

VALUE BET – Force of Nature

Our value play is Force of Nature. Having won four races in his last five he is another that has mainly performed in a lower grade. Another who is looking to take a step up in class, he could be worth monitoring in the market.

BEST BET – The Odyssey

The Odyssey could be worth a play in the Skycity Hamilton Waikato Cup. In good form, he has a win and a third place finish in his last three starts and could well run another big race here. Many arrive here with no real form of note so any market moves should be noted.

THE DANGER – Blue Sky At Night

Blue Sky At Night could be a big danger to the majority in the field. Having done the bulk of his recent racing in this class and above, he should be right up with the pace and looks to have an advantage over many who will be taking a step up in class here. He will need to find something extra, but his chances can’t be dismissed.

VALUE BET – Midnight Blue

Midnight Blue is our long shot of the day. Another who is used to racing at this level and above, there are high hopes that a drop down in class here could well end up seeing him record a first win in well over a year.
