The best racing in New Zealand this Saturday comes from Trentham where the action is headlined by the Taylor Property Plus Wellington Guineas.

BEST BET – What You Wish For

What You Wish For has had a seven-week break but looks to be the one to be on the third race of the Trentham card. He has recorded five wins in his career and was unlucky not to have added to that haul last time out in the Fulton Family Stakes. Craig Grylls takes the ride and he has to be respected.

THE DANGER – Bridal Train

There will be no concerns over the fitness of Bridal Train as she finished second at Otaki a few weeks ago. With two wins in her last five starts, she is exceptionally consistent and could pick up the pieces if others fail to fire.

VALUE BET – Our Jumala

Our Jumala usually operates at a level higher than this and she has placed a couple of times in graded company in her career. She has placed or won on 50% of her starts at Trentham and at a price, must be respected.

BEST BET – Origin Of Love

We are hoping it will be a special day for Mark Walker and Sam Bergerson and we are pairing up with them again in the Wellington Guineas. Although the wins have been in short supply recently, she has been consistent with three placed efforts in her last four starts. She is proven at this level and looks the best bet of the race.

THE DANGER – Alottago

The danger could lie with Alottago. Equally experienced as Origin Of Love, she ran well when finishing in midfield in the Al Basti Equiworld Dubai 53rd New Zealand 2000 Guineas. That is decent form in comparison to most in this race and she is not without a chance.

VALUE BET – Sierra Leone

If you want to back one at a price the Sierra Leone could be of interest. A winner last time out in a much lower grade, this requires plenty more – however the manner of that victory was impressive, and she could be a dark horse here.

Not So Unusual – 6.00

Walkinthepark – 27.00

BEST BET – Trav

In the Lifedirect Nz St Leger, Trav could be the one to side with, although unplaced in all of his runs this season, he generally campaigns at a level higher than this and does bring some class into the contest. He is by no means rock solid, but should give a good showing.

THE DANGER – Not So Unusual

No So Unusual is at the other end of spectrum and is arguably the most consistent in this race. She has two wins from her last six starts and the other four races have all resulted in placed efforts. This is a tougher assignment but she should be up to the task.

VALUE BET – Walkinthepark

In a race where there looks to be plenty of value, Walkinthepark could be the play. A winner two starts ago at the track, he couldn’t quite match that last time out but still offers plenty of encouragement. He has a fine record at Trentham and could be a player at a massive price.
