Quick Analysis:

Going against the favourite here with Odin's Mount. He put in a decent trial, but didn’t do too much first up. In his last prep, he placed at Eagle Farm when second-up, and he was only 0.26L off the winner in that one. The 3YO draws well for this one, and from barrier two, Jake Bayliss will have a lot of options. At $4.40, there’s a lot of value there.

Quick Analysis:

Unlike my previous best bet, for this race at Newcastle, it’s hard for me to go past the favourite. Night Agent broke his maiden at Port Macquarie, then was tasked with a difficult race at Flemington next up. He didn’t fare too well in that one. Goes back to non-metro class for this one, and clearly is the one to beat. It’s a big field, but Night Agent can get the job done.

Quick Analysis:

Switching back to Ballina now, and I’m with Jade Trees for the final race on the card. We have a lot of live chances in this one, but the gelding is a winner this prep at Coffs Harbour, and he has placed in all other runners so far this prep. He does draw wide for this one, so jockey Luke Rolls needs to be on his A-game, but the 4YO has the class to get the win.

  • Awesome Artist was narrowly beaten at Hawkesbury last start and now drops back to non-metro grade. He looks the one to beat in Race 4 at Newcastle.
  • Superstitious is coming off a win at Grafton on a soft track and represents a strong stable. He looks a key chance in Race 6 at Ballina.
  • Miss Capricorn has been consistent this campaign with a win and multiple placings. She looks a genuine contender at decent odds in Race 7 at Newcastle.
