Quick Analysis:

Kicking off today with the 2026 Lismore Cup, and boy, it’s an open field. There are plenty of hot chances, but I’m sticking to my guns and going with Gorbachev. The 5YO has had a decent prep so far, including a recent win at Eagle Farm at double-digit odds. Daniel Moor takes over in the saddle, and with just 54.5kg on the gelding’s back, they should be flying.

I reckon I’ve found some value with Zumbo today at Scone. She kicked off her prep last time out, with a middle-of-the-pack finish at Randwick. She should be fitter for that run under her belt, and I’m expecting some natural improvement. At $6.50, she looks to be a steal, and she’s been running in much more difficult races than this; she just needs to put it all together in one race.

Quick Analysis:

I’m sticking with the favourite, Ocean Bay, here at Cranbourne today. The mare seems to be firing on all cylinders at the moment, and comes into this one looking for her fourth win in a row. This includes a win last time out at Sandown Hillside in a BM74 against her own sex. She gets the same sort of race again here. This one is currently in the Good range though, but rain is around (and the more rain, the better!).

  • Mishani Crown only just missed at Ipswich last start and now returns to non-metro class. She can make the class drop count in Race 3 at Sunshine Coast.
  • Outsidethesquare is in strong form with two wins from five starts this prep, including a last-start victory at Launceston. She can continue her winning form in Race 5 at Launceston.
