Quick Analysis:

Sticking with the favourite in Race 5 today at Kyneton with Manchego. The $1.70 that’s currently on offer is a bit skinny, especially after starting at around the $2.50 mark. However, with his run last time out at Echuca, it’s easy to see why the money has come streaming in. The gelding won by 2L, and with just eight runners in this one, I’m expecting another win.

Russian Front presents a smidge of value, currently going around at the $3.70 mark. The gelding managed to get back into the winner’s circle last time out at Pakenham Synthetic, winning by 3.5L. Thomas Stockdale, who was on board for that run, sticks with the 7YO once again. This does look slightly harder than his last run, but he’s up for the challenge.

I reckon I’ve found a value play in the last race of the day today at Kyneton with Corona Lad. The gelding was the first emergency, but easily made it into the field thanks to five scratchings (at the time of writing). He was impressive at Sale two runs back, finishing second by just 0.35L, which came on a Good-rated track. This one at Kyneton is also in the Good range, and barrier six isn’t the worst.

  • Zephirine has been in outstanding form this campaign, winning six times and placing in all her other outings. She looks well placed to add another victory in Race 3 at Mount Isa.
  • Revolt scored a strong win at Mount Isa last start and has previously won eight times at the track. He looks like the clear one to beat in Race 4 at Mount Isa.
  • Viking Valour is a Mount Isa track specialist with four wins at the venue and two victories from eight starts this campaign. He remains a major contender in Race 7 at Mount Isa.
