Quick Analysis:

There have already been heaps of scratchings in this one, so it’s just a field of seven, and I have my eye on Maidoff. He won here last time out, after jumping from the widest barrier of them all, and he’ll be jumping wide again today. Keagan Latham takes over in the saddle, and he is the in-form provincial jockey. The 4YO has enough class to put this field away and go two-from-two.

Quick Analysis:

I think I’ve found a little bit of value around Mr Sioux in Race 8 today at Warrnambool. The gelding went around as the narrow favourite last time out at Mornington, but couldn’t get the job done, finishing fourth. I think he’ll enjoy being back here at Warrnambool, where he broke through and won his maiden two runs back. John Allen, who was on board for that maiden win, hops back into the saddle.

Quick Analysis:

Wrapping the day up with the last race at Tamworth, The Dux Nuts is the clear one to beat in my eyes. The favourite does have a lot of experience at Tamworth, with three of his last five runs coming here. He’ll be tackling this one first-up, and maps well to get some cover in the early stages. He does draw wide, but in this small-ish field, I don’t think that’ll be too much of a concern.

Stats and Insights

  • Vomo Island comes off a win at Kalgoorlie and draws the rails. He can continue his winning form as the favourite in Race 3 at Kalgoorlie.
  • Qickwit won at Esk four runs back but faded to finish five lengths from the winner at Warwick last start. He looks primed to bounce back in Race 6 at Gatton.
  • Correct Choice comes off a win at Belmont and gets the blinkers back on. He is capable of going back-to-back in Race 7 at Kalgoorlie.
