Quick Analysis:

The class rise looked too much for Hard As Brok last time, but I think this one looks more ideal. He seems to do some of his best work on Soft-rated tracks (8:1-1-2), and this is what he should get today at Grafton. Ben Looker takes over in the saddle this time, and the pair should have a lot of options from barrier four. Amongst this company, he looks good enough to chalk up his second win.

Quick Analysis:

Staying in Grafton for my second best bet of the day, and I have my sights set on Herald Angel. The mare is coming off a second placing at Lismore last time out, by just 0.04L. Before that, she won at Ballina in a BM58 by over 6L. Andrew Mallyon, who was on board for those two runs, saddles up once again, and they have options from barrier four.

Quick Analysis:

Heading to Tatura for my last best bet of the day with Golden Pulse. The colt hasn’t been performing up to his potential recently, but the potential is there, so I’m willing to jump on him. He broke his maiden the first time of asking, but hasn’t managed to put it together in the two runs since. The Good-rated track conditions he gets here should be more to his liking as well.

Stats and Insights

  • Baganov resumed with a third at Bendigo on a Soft-rated track and comes from a good stable. He can take another step forward second-up in Race 4 at Tatura.
  • Asmita kept chasing and just missed at Sale last start, showing she is in good form. After finishing third last time out, she can go two better in Race 7 at Tatura.
  • Sunset Trail finished two lengths from the winner at Grafton last start and won at the track two runs back. He is capable of getting another win in Race 8 at Grafton.
